Food is great and affordable. However, I do realise it gets pricier every year, especially for regular dishes like curry laksa and assam laksa. Restaurant moved to a new location - more space, cleaner and more organised.

Restaurant is slightly old and the seats are dirty. Quality of the food is ok but ingredients are not always fresh. The cutlery on the table is also not always clean.

Service is quick. My food was ready within 5 minutes of ordering. Restaurant is easy to locate too. Food has great flavour and is generous with the amount of ingredients.

An obvious competitor to Laksa King, this restaurant serves up a great selection of Malaysian food. Food is also slightly cheaper than its competitor. However, the restaurant is small and often runs out of seats quickly. Slightly claustrophobic too.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. I love Indonesian Chinese food and especially if it is good value for money. The restaurant serves up a great variety of food - beef ribs, deep fried barramundi, chicken etc. This restaurant is also not for the faint-hearted. The level of spiciness gets quite high!

Like most Shanghainese restaurants, food at David and Camy's is laden with tremendous amounts of MSG. However, food is cheaper than other restaurants in the vicinity. Great value too - $8.50 for a good number of dumplings. Must try if you like dumplings!

Approximate cost: $8.50

Slightly pricier than other hair salons located in the neighbourhood. Cuts are good and stylish, perfect for Asian hair. Hairstylists are from Korea/China but they speak a good amount of English.

Cuts are quite reasonable and the place was easy to find. However, my haircut experience wasn't utterly all pleasant. At first, my hairdresser took a really long time to snip my hair. I guess it was due to the fact that there was nobody in the salon at that time. When more patrons started pouring in, I could see she was starting to panic. She began snipping my hair very quickly while keeping an eye on the clock at the same time. I was afraid she would give me a horrible haircut so I decided to leave when she held up a mirror. This is not a salon I would patronise again.

Train delays are disappointing. Sometimes, they last anywhere from 30min to an hour. I would prefer more express trains in the morning. It is a pain to take the train at 7.30am and it stops at every station. Train tickets for zone 1+2 are expensive too.

Kairo Hair story is perfect for Asian hair. The hairdressers are from Korea and they provide great services for their price. $30 for ladies and $25 for guys (students price). I usually go for the male hairstylists.
