The only time I went to this place it was packed. I dont think it's a reflection on the cafe - there's just nowhere else for the locals to go. We had to wait a little while for both seat, drink and breakfast. The breakfast was ok. I'm not a vegetarian but the beans on sourdough with mushrooms was delicious (this was at least a year ago) and the drinks came in little glass jugs. Overall a satisfactory experience.
Being from NZ my seafood standards high. So you can imagine how delighted I was that my local fish n chip shop stepped up to the place.
I love that you can get your fish grilled. I love their fish burgers and they offer plenty of salads and fresh fish to choose from. Definitely recommend. Their prices a little on the high side but then there isn't any competition for miles.
It's so nice to have a little gelato shop pop up - especially as summer is here. We don't have anything like it here in Teneriffe so I hope they are doing well. I walk home past them every night and last night I finally gave in. I was not disappointed with my Coffee Granita - it was mine, all mine!
This place is amazing (I think I've ever given 20/20 stars before)!!!
For $30 you get a remedial massage by a student. Don't be put off. I feel like they are so much more attentive than someone that's being doing it for years. They really take the time to assess you and try and work out the source of the issue. Totally recommend. If you're lucky you can get parking. Did I mention it's $30? ($25 if you check-in on FB) BARGAIN!!!
It's great to have a lovely little lounge bar like this in the 'burbs and not have to fight off the kids and tourists in Surfers! We often meet here - a small gathering of friends only though as the bar is small (but long!). Food is great and there is parking out the back. Recommended spot for first date or after work drinks.
I still don't know if I like the new look but one thing I can tell you, as a non-smoker I'm so glad they have now allocated the outdoor area for the non-smokers. It's on a prime position on the river and it's an amazing spot to have a beer in the afternoon. The few times we ate there it was really good food. Great spot to have a large group gathering as there is plenty of room.
These guys have been open for only a few months. They have an amazing selection of exquisite cakes and the likes. I'm not a sweet tooth but they do serve coffee which was satisfactory and they are located close to home. Have all the makings of a professional business and I hope they do well.
I only go here for coffee when I walk that way to work (it's not my usual barista). To tell you the truth, I didn't really find anything exceptional about their coffee and I like to think I know a little bit about coffee. Prices are standard and unfortunately, there are lots of barista's around that compare more favourably.
This is a place for the older crowd. It has a great atmosphere with large opening windows to give it a free flow. Communal toilets suck as men are dirty and smelly it's not nice for us ladies (sorry! but you know it's true!). The prices are expensive but you are in the prestigious James St precinct so to be expected. What I did love about this place is that whether you like it or not, a waitress comes round and gives you each a glass of water and then proceeds to top you up throughout the night. I totally recommend this behaviour - it saved me from a hangover the next day - for sure!
Have been here for lunch and coffee - surprisingly not desert! The service is very attentive and there is plenty to choose from on the tapas menu. We had the share plate which was our choice of baby quid and the pork belly and the goats cheese and tarragon croquettes which were all satisfactory.
