This place is terrible. The windows are not double glazed, I couldn't sleep all night from the noise from the streets. The windows were all closed but you could still hear all the noise being in CBD and next to some pubs and 24hr mcdonalds. The shower was completely flooded I couldn't take a shower either. I called reception and she said the plumber does not work at night and they were fully booked so they can't put me up in another room and tough luck. They even charged me to mind my baggage the next day as my flight wasn't until the late afternoon, most hotels provide baggage minding as complimentary. Go somewhere else, this place is terrible.

This is a lovely Thai restaurant in doncaster east. The staff are friendly and helpful. My sister-in-law had her birthday dinner here a few weeks ago and they helped up place our cake in the fridge and brought it out with plates and cutlery for no additional charge.

Breadtop bakeries are quite expensive and more artificial compared to other Asian bakeries. Westfield Doncaster does not have much competition being the only Asian bakery in the centre, but the other Box Hill bakeries like Carrington are so much better and cheaper. I do like the egg tarts though.

This cafe is very popular and located in the food court of Pines Shoppingcentre near COles. The cakes are really good value a $4 a piece and quite a few to choose from or $6 including a coffee. Scones with jam and cream and coffee is $5. They also service alcohol with at around $4.50 $5 a glass. You can also buy Movenpick icecream at $4 a small tub. Overall good value.

This review is for Miku Japanese Dining, Doncaster East VIC

This Japanese place is a relatively newcomer to Doncaster East and has quickly become very popular. It is owned and run by real Japanese and they use very good quality and fresh ingredients. I had the fresh fish and chirashi lunch deal which includes appetizer, salad, chirashu (very tasty steamed egg), seasoned rice and all sorts of sashimi. The sashimi is very generous in serving. This is one of the more expensive dishes on their lunch menu at $20.80. Their cheaper options include rice with miso soup dishese starting at $10.80, bento boxes starting at $14.80, various udon noodles at around $12.80. Individual sushi rolls for takeaway are $2.80 each. Sake prices start at $4.20 for 60ml on rocks, the plum wine at $7.00 was very nice. I highly recommend this place. One of the better Japanese joints around town.

The staff are Asian and are quite blunt which can be mistaken for rude, reading some of the reviews below. I think they are Vietnamese. I got a deal for $19 manicure and pedicure which was excellent bargain. The staff were quite efficient and a bit rough for my tastes, and the shop is located near Camberwell Junction so easy to get to. For the bargain price I would go again.

This is a convenient place for yum cha being located inside Westfield shoppintown next to the Village cinemas. The dim sims are okay but not as good as Tai Pan nearby. The prawn dumplings here don't taste as fresh and the chives dumplings have less chives than Tai Pan. The scallop dumpling has very thin slice of scallop. The quality and ingredients definitely does not compare to Tai Pan. This place is pricier than Tai Pan too. For yum cha the small eats are $5 per order, medium $6 per order and large $7.50 per order. I guess there is a reason why Tai Pan has been around for so long and still drawing the crowds.

This review is for Bubble Cup, Doncaster VIC

Bubble cup tea has been around for a while and in Australia is cheaper than its competitors Cha Time and Easyway. They have plenty of choices in both summer and winter. The only thing is bubble milk teas are not very healthy, they are made with tapoica pearls mixed with chemicals and high fat milk. It is for this reason they are no longer very popular in may Asian countries.

This review is for E C Pot Cafe Bar, Melbourne VIC

This is the best place in Melbourne to have stone pot Chinese rice. My favourite is the XO Seafood one. Servings are quite large and you may need a takeaway box. At night they give you free soup as well. It is reasonably priced at $13.80 for the seafood one. The only problem is you have to wait 20minutes for the rice to cook.

This review is for Carrington Cake Shop, Box Hill VIC

There are more and more Asian bakeries popping up in Box Hill, but none of them compare to Carrington which has been around for many many years. Their cakes taste better and are reasonable priced. My favourite is their Portugese tarts, they taste better than the ones I tasted in Portugal. Their birthday cakes are also very good value and they make it fresh.
