Pretty much one of the biggest hidden gems this city as to offer. A must see is the charming beer garden. Fantastic service from debonair bartenders who can suggest you obscure drinks at will. Killer music, often playing Tom Waits or Bob Dylan marathons. Do try the pizza and drink combo specials.
Great variety of beers, quality live bands, excellent service by charismatic bar staff. One of the most sociable beer gardens, Old Bar is a staple part of a lively night out in Fitzroy.
Really tasty selection of beers and ciders. Great atmosphere and spacious surrounds. The food is quality but in my opinion is too expensive. From memory fries were the cheapest option and cost like $8-9.
At $1 a pinto they are quite overpriced. Over time, this price has gradually doubled. They are worth trying but at $1 each, you are probably better off going elsewhere.
Approximate cost: $1 per pinto
Pizzas are fantastic value for $4 and you're spoilt for choice when it comes to what sort. Order a pizza or two on a lazy summers afternoon and compliment it with a schooner or two.
Approximate cost: $4
Pretty decent dim sims (better than the usual fast food ones) but still overrated around the suburbs. I guess they aren't as good as they were pre-2006, nonetheless they are pretty effective appetite fillers. Worth a visit for nostalgia reasons.
Approximate cost: $1.90 per dim sim
