I was genuinely impressed (pun intended!); I researched guillotines thoroughly after mine died following ten years' use and I decided on a Dahle. 'Bound to Impress' offered a good price with reasonable postage so I ordered it online on 14 December 2015.

They wrote to me to advise it was on order from their supplier, so there may be a slight delay; I was a little disappointed but grateful for their prompt update.

I don't know what delay they were talking about, as my guillotine arrived two days after I placed the order! And during the Christmas season!

The guillotine is excellent quality (works deliciously smoothly!) and was packaged well in bubble wrap... which was fortunate, as the postal process seemed to have bounced it all the way to my address, going by the damage to the box.

My only suggestion would be to ask the company to mark items as 'Fragile', just to be on the safe side (because Of Course the postal service will then take extra care, right? *wry grin*).

However, I not only recommend 'Bound to Impress', I'll also order their products in future. The communication about potential delays is a definite strong point, as is the layered bubble wrap packaging for protection; my genuine thanks to the company. Be well and safe holidays *smiles*

This review is for Ron Auschner, Vermont South VIC

Ron completed tiling for me after the previous tiler I engaged made an absolute mess of the tiling work contracted. He completed the ensuite shower tiling (including addressing previous poor workmanship), the ensuite wall and floor, grouting and finishing the toilet floor, as well as correcting problems with the kitchen and laundry splashbacks.

Ron was not only prompt and personable, but most importantly, his work was of a high quality. He paid attention to detail, and clearly took pride in his work, and truly, I'm thrilled with how the ensuite now looks! He cleaned up after himself, did exactly what he said he would do and more, and consulted with me when there were anomalies. His prices were more than reasonable, and I'm grateful to have found him after such a negative experience last time.

I also found Ron trustworthy, even leaving him alone in my house on two occasions, something I'd not imagined I'd ever do with a tradesman. I would definitely engage him for future jobs, as well as recommend him to others. He works best with the occasional chat, coffee, and chicken, lettuce and mayo sandwich!

Thankyou for such a positive experience, Ron; you know you made a difference.

This review is for UltraTune, Wantirna VIC

verified email - 24 Jul 2014

After contacting a nearby company last Monday about replacing a headlight on my car where I was told I would have to wait an hour and the cost would be $35, I rang UltraTune to get another quote. I spoke with a man there (and forgive me not recalling his name, as he certainly deserves a mention), who said I could come straight away, that it would take 5-10 minutes, and that the charge would be $20.

Impressed, I drove my car around, where he asked me to park it so he could access it. He attended to it immediately, and completed it within a few minutes! I was very impressed, and began organising payment, to which he waved me away, refusing my offer of payment!

I sincerely hope I do not get this man into trouble for not charging me, as I was genuinely impressed with his speed and service, and of course the free price tag! It may not be everything, but it implanted a truly positive association with UltraTune Knox, and I immediately recounted my experience with my son's fiance, who I met in Knox City afterwards.

Generosity of spirit counts for a lot, particularly when tis lacking in this day and age. I cannot repay that man, but I can say a public thankyou, note that I'll go there again, and share my positive experience. Thankyou kindly!

Approximate cost: $20 (but payment ultimately free!)

The brief version:
Professional, excellent workmanship, courteous and on time. Would use again and definitely recommend.

The extended version:
Guy Reeves provided a professional quote that was thorough, clear and reasonably priced. He impressed me with his courtesy and communication and I chose to go with his quote. Circumstances required that I postpone the work, and the company was exceptionally patient, even holding the quote price for longer than I expected (it was ultimately revised upwards but not substantially and the specifics explained to my satisfaction). There was at one point a misunderstanding with the office manager, however we not only cleared it up but went on to have a strong business relationship—and this particularly impressed me, as it is a real skill to turn things around when something goes wrong (such a credit to you, Sandra, thankyou!). On the appointed day, Guy attended with a team of electricians, all of whom were polite and hardworking. Multiple parafloods were installed, light fittings changed, and a sensor installed and tested. All work was completed to full functioning and I was shown how to adjust the sensor should it be required. One paraflood was broken in transit but was replaced within a few days with no hassle. The cost was reasonable and the workmanship professional and of a high quality. I would definitely return to this company as well as recommend it to others; having confidence and trust in a company is big, and they excelled in this.

This review is for J-Jet Automotive, Bayswater VIC

verified email - 28 Jan 2013

As a woman, I am particularly unimpressed with the automotive industry; I have frequently faced sleaze, inappropriateness, discomfort, and of course patronisation. I received a recommendation for J-Jet from the one man at the tyre business (who isn't sleazy!) I've been going to for years, and have thus far had a full service, a minor service and a clutch kit replaced at J-Jet.

What impresses me is Jason's communication, authenticity and of course the mechanics (e.g. provides old parts, car drives smoothly after repair). I've not had any problems with his work since I first took it to him early last year, and most importantly I have confidence in him. It feels like he wants to create a genuine business based on trust rather than just a short term 'get what you can' approach. I feel like if I had any doubts or concerns about any work done, I could just talk to him about it and he would respond. His prices are reasonable (and after 25 years of going to mechanics, I figure I have some sense of pricing) and his customer service exemplary.

I don't know if you will read this Jason, but thankyou kindly for your integrity; I don't trust easily and you've restored a level of confidence in me. It's genuinely a pleasure doing business with you.

I contacted Kirsty by text following the review on WOMO (the four stars is confusing though makes sense once I read that it means "great; better than most" however I still think Kirsty ranks five stars). She responded quickly and warmly and after a few texts I made an appointment to see her last Monday. From the moment I arrived to when I left, I was impressed with Kirsty. Her welcome was warm and genuine, she was thorough in her assessment and explanations of her approach, she created a beautiful, nurturing space, and her massage was both therapeutic and soothing to the soul. I left there feeling rejuvenated and more connected. Thankyou so much, Kirsty, I won't hesitate to book you again.

This review is for Tips & Toes by Paola, Berwick VIC

verified email - 10 Aug 2012

I saw Paola for the first time in early May 2012, following the reviews on WOMO. I confess that too many positive reviews (e.g. 50+) leave me suspicious that tis merely a strategic marketing strategy so it helped that she had a good amount of positive reviews (20) without it seeming excessive.

When I first spoke to Paola, I found her warm, professional and responsive; she was the same in person. Her clinic was immaculate and professional, and her welcome added warmth to what might otherwise have been a sterile environment. I found her to be engaging, and her time and useful tips were invaluable. I was especially impressed with the machinery used to buff and smooth my feet!

Even though I do take care of my feet (as she pointed out), I found her work far superior to my amateur pedicures, and Paola made me feel comfortable and at ease, despite my initial self-consciousness. I shan't hesitate to return, and comfortably recommend her to others (and in fact did so recently to a shoe saleswoman!).
