This review is for Duffy Hairdressing, Essendon VIC

Finding a new hairdresser when you move is always a struggle. After toying with the idea of going into Duffy for four months (passing by it every day) I went in for a haircut last night (without an appointment!) based on the reviews here on Womow. Duffy is GREAT!
My pet hates with hairdressers are when they either spend the first appointment bagging "whoever cut your hair last time" or hairdressers that lecture me as I colour my own hair. I was very impressed. I used to get my hair cut at Toni and Guy in Newtown in Sydney for years and am used to paying for high quality hairdressing. I have paid the same kind of prices in Melbourne and been very disappointed. Duffy (whilst ten or fifteen dollars dearer for a cut/blowdry) are still great value. The cutter spent a long time talking to me, checking what I liked and offering suggestions. My hair hasn't looked this good in five years since I left Sydney. I will be a regular customer

Approximate cost: $72

I was so impressed with this restaurant! I normally hate having to ask for specific changes to a menu but the staff were incredibly helpful and the chef made me a special dish, not even on the menu!!!! the most beautiful piece of atlantic salmon - and the white chocolate mousse dessert was to die for!!!!!

I met Kellie at a recent Fifth Avenue Party my friend held. I love the collection, some gorgeous bling, I could have bought the lot!
Kellie is lovely, so approachable and friendly, I have even broken my "no more parties" rule and booked a party with her in January. Give her a call - you won't regret it!

Sabrina was my personal trainer in Melbourne before she relocated to the Gold Coast. As my testimonial on her website says (cos it says it all):I first met Sabrina when I participated in a boot-camp run by the gym I had just joined in January 2009. Straight away, it was clear that she was just what I was looking for—a trainer that could be tough on me and motivate me but also to have a laugh with. At the end of the bootcamp program, I started training with Sabrina twice a week. Sabrina helped me push through the plateau I was stuck on and really spent time researching my needs and challenges. Sabrina worked constantly with me and when required, mixed things up to accommodate the issues I had. Sabrina has succeeded where other trainers have not in changing my body shape, increasing my fitness dramatically and today my knee and shoulder rarely affect me, as they have increased in strength with her care and training. Sabrina's enthusiasm and energy is contagious, our training sessions have always been fun and full of chatter but at the same time, results driven. She has become a wonderful friend who I will miss dearly.

Melbourne's loss is definitely the Gold Coast's gain!

This review is for Mary Kay Cosmetics & Skincare - Catherine Morelli, Box Hill North VIC

I met Catherine through a friend of mine and instantly clicked with her. I had used Mary Kay cosmetics many years ago and was surprised to see how much the range has grown. I have now 'graduated' to skincare for my age (grrrrr, what do you mean I am not 18 anymore???) and LOVE the products that Catherine introduced me to.

Catherine spent a lot of time working with me on what would work for me and didn't sell me a complicated beauty regime that I would never (even with the best of intentions) actually perform on a daily basis.

Catherine does one-on-one consultations and also does both catalogue "parties" or will do a fun makeup lesson session with you and a few friends. Give her a call, she is fabulous

Teresa is a fabulous massage therapist, she managed to un-knot me where others had failed. The best remedial massage I have ever received, and she is lovely!!!!! Someone I felt instantly comfortable with!

Great coffee, great food, always busy, the only thing I would say is it is REALLY noisy, I don't know if that is due to the building being old but it's always hard to hear your eating companion in there - doesn't stop me going there, I still love it!

This review is for Smile Solutions, Melbourne VIC

I have a huge fear of dentists from a bad experience many years ago and have been for a few check ups with dentists since and never gone back. I booked in to Smile Solutions (really convenient spot in the city!) and my new dentist Yasmin Coulthard went to work. She was amazing, she really understood my nervousness, and would stop every now and then and say "we are going to have a break for a second" and told me as much (or as little) as I wanted to know about what she was doing - (the unknown is one of the scary bits)

Yasmin did quite a bit of work on my teeth over the period of two years and I return for my checkups regularly, no longer shaking at even the thought of a dentist. I have referred friends to Yasmin and in particular one friend who usually requires sedation to get a filling who is very very happy with Yasmin and won't see anyone else ever again.

Ella B is a great little boutique in Essendon. The range and styles of clothes is impressive with well known designers and really original pieces. I love the accessories table in the middle of the room, I get comments on my bracelets that I bought there ALL the time. Everything from special occasion frocks to everyday clothes. I love this shop!

This review is for Parallel Lines Hair Salon, Melbourne VIC

I used to work in the building above this salon and now that I work at the opposite end of town I still make the effort to go here - it's worth it.

Sam has been cutting my hair for several years now - I trust him and the job he does, he listens to what you want and I always walk out of there looking like a million dollars.

Sam is one of the first hairdressers I have had who doesn't bag the job the last person did on your hair or tell you not to colour your own hair, he talks to you about what you like and don't like and helps you get the look you are after. Parallel Lines is open Monday and Tuesday 8.30am – 5.30pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30am - 7.00pm and their prices are SUPER competitive
