I ended up using the makeup service at Napoleon Perdis as a last minute option, due to a function I was attending the Saturday afternoon/evening. Once again (due to the short notice) my preference wasn't available so I went with Napoleon Perdis having never used them before except for an eye liner and one eye shadow.
The attendant putting on my makeup was young, yet experienced and was careful to keep checking my preferences, thoughts as we progressed. I asked questions as we went and she was happy to answer them. What I liked best is instead of paying for the application of the make-up you had a minimum spend on products which meant I could purchase the lipstick and lipgloss we had used to touch up during the day. There was no pressure to purchase additional items, it was left up to me and I really like the fact that the pressure wasn't there. Whilst I would still go to my regular first, I would definitely consider Napoleon in the future if I had to attend another event and would consider their makeup products more widely now.

This review is for Stefan Hair Fashions - Chermside, Chermside QLD

I needed my hair styled before a function that afternoon/evening at very short notice. Due to the short notice I wasn't able to go to my regular hair salon and decided to try Stefan (having never been before). I will admit I was a bit wary but came out quite pleasantly surprised. It seemed a bit 'clinical' at first as you had to fill out details on a piece of paper but I do understand they were wanting to find out about any past hair experiences and issues you face with your hair. The lady I had (I think it was Rebecca?) listened closely to what I had in mind and offered appropriate suggestions. She took care, checked in with me throughout the process and was happy to engage in conversation.
There is a clear desire to 'upsell' and/or sell in-store products to the point they even bring products to you and leave them there for you to review. Whilst my stylist did try to sell the products, she didn't push me as I think she picked up I wouldn't be purchasing them. It was a great style that lasted for the remainder of the day and I received many compliments. I was pleasantly surprised and would go back if I couldn't get in to my regular hair dresser. I believe the salon charged appropriately as well.

Approximate cost: $80

This review is for Note Couture, Melbourne VIC

I love Note Couture and tell everyone I can about them (have done for a long time and will continue to for a long time to come). Julie is fantastic and always willing to cater towards specific requests. My purchases are both for myself and gifts for others and I have never been able to find anyone else who comes close to providing the type of personalised and stylish stationery that Note Couture does. The personal service is great and you know who you are buying from and Julie is always very prompt with responses. The products are extremely high quality and always arrive in great condition, with that personal touch. Do yourself a favour, go and browse the collection and purchase some for you, your friends and your family then wait for the compliments :).
