This review is for Allans Music, Kew VIC

I can't comment on the value or the quality because the service - actually, lack of - got in the way.

Last Christmas (& I'm remembering this now, mid the next year, given I'm asked - but that's how word of mouth works...), I wanted to buy some extra parts for my son's drum kit. I walked into Allan's Music because it's the closest music store to my home. I thought for sure I'd get good kit there.

I waited AGES to be attended to, and my FIRST (but not last) question was about a metronome. I was shown to a wall of them - then the attendant walked away!! I had so many questions (on other items too), but as he'd left me to fumble through the various metronomes, I just decided ' better to go into Richmond where my son LEARNS drumming, and go to The Drum Shop there'. That was a good move.

A good take away pizza place. Better than mainstream and more personalised, warmer welcome. Clean, good food. Absolutely LOVE the 'Forbidden Apple' dessert!

These guys are top the range in every sense of the word. Absolutely IMPECCABLE service, IMPECCABLE style, IMPECCABLE quality, IMPECCABLE range.

Sincerely, I love pay week because visiting Leo's is an absolute treat. It's for the rich only - I mean, everything is high cost, but Leo's has never ever failed to deliver on any aspect. They are an absolute favourite visit (when I can afford it).

HIGHLY recommended.

Approximate cost: $!!!

This review is for Ichii Sushi, Kew VIC

I have both eaten in and taken away here, and my son is a real fan of this place. Sushi can be expensive, but it's always filling so you can eat well on $20 for two (including drinks);

If you dine in though, note, when they ask you if you'd like Green Tea, they're not just being hospital - it is an extra cost!! I thought it was complimentary first time, but realised it wasn't when I broke down costs.

Great food, service, and clean.

Approximate cost: $10

This review is for Magic Hand Car Wash, Kew East VIC

These guys no doubt about it work their a**es off! but they get so much work, sometimes it's inconvenient to get your car done when you want to. It's absolutely PERFECT when you can drop it off, do your shopping at Coles over the road, and come back to a clean car, but when it's not possible quick enough, that sort of disappoints.

Totally, though, they do a great job.

(I say only 4 stars for value because I think the cost, WHILE COMPARABLE with other car washes, is too much to pay for a clean car... but that's just me!

This review is for Ultra Tune, Kew VIC

I didn't know what to put for value because I simply don't know what I SHOULD page the gears/box which broke in my car, but all the rest on this service was so true in my time of crisis.

The gears had been slipping but I have a 2001 Hyundai Excel & you don't expect things to bust that quickly. Well, yep, leaving work one cold evening and with my son to collect from gymnastics, I was STUCK DOING A 3-PT TURN IN A STREET!!! busted gears. Had to push the car aright.

Anyway, the Kew Ultra Tune I GENUINELY found gave personable, quality, timely service & that's why I recommend them. As I say, not sure about the cost - I actually had to borrow, to meet this cost.

Approximate cost: $1400

This review is for Bankwest, Mount Richmond VIC

OK, no-one's going to like me reviewing a bank favourably, and you're going to think I work there or have family or do (I'm a secretary who sits on my arse dreaming about what I should be doing with my life, now a anker) - but I believe that when you find good people or business, you should say so, no matter how traditional it is to be negative about them.

BankWest Richmond in Victoria Gardens is where I've experience person to person banking and the staff are ALWAYS cheerful, ALWAYS helpful, and ALWAYS endeavour to sort whatever it is you've come in about.

Bankwest don't have branches EVERYwhere like other banks do, but I can access my $ EVERwhere. I can use the 4 big banks' ATMs for free, even for account enquiries. It's just fine with me. Phone banking a ditto good service. I'm heaps happy with this Bank, and think you should know.

Approximate cost: $savin!

I recommend this business strongly and sincerely. Their cheerfulness and welcoming attitudes to all aside, grown roots level, these guys are really talented.

My son learns drumming there and his teacher not simply teaches him, but inspires him. The skill level of instructors is sharp, and their personality 'cool' (if that's not too unprofessional!). The fees are every cent worth the skill, co-ordination and joy they pass on to their child in the learning.

I know they teach more than drums, just can't remember what else - I think music also. Give them a call before anyone : this studio is magnificent.

This review is for Video Ezy, Kew VIC

I know you wouldn't normally rate your local vid. store but seriously, VideoEzy Kew stand out to me (from my experience of video stores). The staff are ALWAYS smiley and swift, and helpful. I've had a few free rentals by their proise if they don't have it, it's free, and when I've had a scratched or non-working vid. I've had it replaced or cleaned cheerily. They're really something else. They're my favourite.

Approximate cost: $3-15

This review is for Kew Wash House, Kew VIC

I arrived from Perth 2.5 years ago & because Kew Wash House was closest to where I landed, I used it. The lady in attendance (an agent for dry cleaning) is always cheerful, helpful. She has repaired items for me (hems, moth holes) with her great sewing, & I've seen men pick up business shirts & ironing. The machines are in unfailingly good order. The premises are ALWAYS clean. People obviously respect this joint.

Last year I moved a couple of suburbs away & used THAT local wash house. After losing $$$ in the busted machines and one customer telling me, 'They're always broken' - I did give that place a few tries but now travel the extra distance just for Kew Wash House

There's about six or eight (haven't counted) $4 wash machines that take $1 or $2; two (I think) triple load machines ($8) and one double load machine ($6). I'm just going by memory on that bit. The $6 machine takes $1 COINS ONLY but the others take $2 and $1. While there isn't a change machine (understandably) there is a powder machine.

Approximate cost: $Varies according to load!
