Ladies, unless your husband is home, don't deal with this business. This company will only make an appointment to come and quote if the husband is home as well. They sent [Redacted name] out to quote for us. When he arrived, I opened the door to him, and spoke to him about what we wanted. As soon as I finished, he then asked if my husband was home. My husband walked out, and [Redacted name] turned from me, and said 'right, I'll deal with him then will I' and walked off to my husband, who then repeated EXACTLY what I had said to him. Silly, silly!! He should not have made the assumption that my husband was "in charge". It is MY house, paid for with MY money, and I will decided who I do and don't give my business to! It doesn't matter anyway, as they didn't even bother to send a quote through to us, despite [Redacted name] asking for and taking my husband's email address. This comes on the back of a huge mess they made trying to get them to come to quote. I rang on a Wednesday to make an appointment for them to come on a Friday to quote. They then rang me back on Thursday and left a message asking me to call them AGAIN to confirm the appointment. I didn't bother, since I had only called the day before to make the actual appointment. They then rang on the Friday morning and left another message saying 'we really need you to confirm the appointment as we cannot send anyone out otherwise'. The agreed appointment time came and went and no one turned up. By this stage, I thought 'this is ridiculous. I only just rang to make the appointment' so I rang the office, pretty annoyed as my husband had taken the morning off work to be home, as they requested, and the woman in the office blatantly lied to me by saying the 'message they left was about [Redacted name] getting called back to another customer to answer more questions they had, not about confirming the appointment, and that he would be running late'. Two hours later he finally turned up!! I am not actually deaf, or dumb, despite them thinking as such because I am female, and I know what the message said. Such dishonesty does not give me any confidence in this business. And I am actually really offended by the fact that they would not deal with me as a female!!!

[redacted generalisation] The chap who came to quote had absolutely no interest in dealing with me - a woman - and within a minute of me opening the door to him, upfront he asked if he should come back at another time to speak to my husband - 'unless of course you are the boss'? he said. Halfway through the quote he said 'oh, I will have to show you this part, as most women just say to their husbands 'I had no idea what he was talking about''. Even his email containing the quote offered to come back and speak to my husband. Clearly I am quite capable of making a decision without my husband helping me to think, and when I advised him as such and that his quote was $6,000 more than another quote we had received he said to me 'good luck with that unrealistic quote.' (Given that we also received a quote of $5,000 less than his, I wonder who is unrealistic here?) I don't think I have ever been as truly offended by a company than I have with this one.

I have taken my two young sons here a few times now and each time they have had great haircuts. No appointments necessary which is great, although they do get busy on Saturdays and you have to wait for a while. The only downside is that it is cash only.

This place is great when you really want to treat yourself. It is not the cheapest place in town, but if visiting for a treat it is great.

I am really happy with the service I received from Future Tech Sewing. Brad was really responsive to my enquiries via email, and when I took my machine in to the shop, he was able to fix it on the spot for a great price. Thanks!

I could not recommend this shop. The shop itself is an occupational hazard - there are sewing machines old and new EVERYWHERE, all over the floor, on every surface, and there is stuff piled up on top of of stuff. I dropped my sewing machine in for a minor repair, and was told it would take a week and that they would text me when it was done. When I'd heard nothing after more than a week, I contacted them, and the women I spoke to had no idea about what I was asking about and put me on to the man who works there. He then told me they were waiting on a part, and then told me about another customer who had to wait 8 months for a part to come from Singapore! After another couple of weeks went by I started looking around at other repair shops, and went in and collected my machine. I took it to another repairer, who fixed it on the spot - it did not need another part at all - just a minor adjustment. If this business had even bothered to look at my machine, they would have found the same - terrible, terrible service. What a waste of my time!

Charlie is a brilliant children's entertainer. We engaged him on the recommendation of a colleague for our 5 year old son's birthday party, and he had 13 kids ranging in age from 2 to 9 enthralled for over an hour. I cannot thank him enough for making our son's birthday party truly memorable.

We originally contacted this company for our bathroom renovation, and ended up dealing with the Alcon Building Group. Please be wary of this company. There were so many aspects of our bathroom renovation that went wrong.

Our tiles are rough cut and warped in places. They suggested a well known builders hack as a way of 'fixing' it. - that is, using white caulking over white tiles to try and disguise the warping. This is despite the fact that they used grey grout - it would have looked just as ridiculous as the warped tiling! We now live permanently with warped tiles.

The caulking was HORRENDOUS. It was so rough and dirty that we requested it to be repaired. Even on a second attempt the tiler could not rectify it. It was still rough and dirty. He was just such a bad tiler! It then took two days for another poor chap from the company to pull it out and re-do it. Even still remnants of the terrible caulking remain.

They placed beading around the bottom of the vanity unit - but only on the front, and it was a poor fit. It needed to be re-done, around all sides, and waterproofed. The caulking was peeling within less than a week of application. The beading started rotting within six months. When I contacted the builder to tell him how bad his workmanship was, he blamed us for buying a bigger vanity. We knew nothing of this, given that he provided written advice during the project planning stage that it was all OK to buy the unit we did.

They could not even put the the power switch on straight, and it had to be re-done too!

We had a clothes shute/flap in the wall of the bathroom into the adjoining laundry that we wanted removed. They plastered over the bathroom side, and left a great big hole in the wall of our laundry!!! When we asked for this to be plastered over too, they wanted to charge us more. In the end, they withdrew the extra costs, but only because we got pretty annoyed at the fact that they would do a job leaving a massive hole in a wall!!!

The painter/plasterer had to come three times - to repaint and patch up.

If we had not asked for the poor work to be re-done, we suspect it would not have been fixed up, which raises question of quality control. The builder did not inspect the progress of his trades as they went along. Their own tradesmen complained about each other and how things hadn't been done properly.

There were some mis-communication issues due to a vague, broadly termed contract. A quote which reads "Ceiling: Cornicing as is" to us meant no structural changes. "Painting" meant all encompassing. To them it didn't. They painted the walls and not the ceiling. They wanted to charge us extra to paint the ceiling. On questioning why they would leave a job half done and not paint the ceiling, they at least they did the right thing and withdrew extra costs.

The new lock on the new door didn't work, and the final placement of the shower screen was not as we designed/requested.

The covering of the handle on the shower screen started peeling within 11 months of installation. We had to ask for a warranty replacement. They said they would mail a replacement but didn't.

The heating vent fell apart after 12 months.

If you use this company, we recommend you populate the quote with as many details as you can to avoid not having expectations met, seek a time-frame for when things are done (we never knew when anyone was coming - and always had to ask - sometimes they turned up unexpectedly too), ensure that you are around to ensure things are done the way you want cf. what suits the firm.

In the end, the job for us took double the amount of time because of all the things that went wrong. It was very stressful.

My children had a great time here, and the inflatables were suited to kids of all ages. The thing we found disappointing was that admittance is sold by sessions, which no doubt helps with crowd control, but my children were having a great time and wanted to keep playing. In a way, this means this business is actually losing business in that the longer people stay, the more they spend in the cafe. Also - in the middle of winter, it was freezing. Plus you have to book online - and can't just turn up, which is a real annoyance.
