I thought the vet staff and vets were absolutely professional and very friendly. My 13 year old dog was comfortable and on the second visit, fixed her eye issue. The only problem I have with this vet is the charges. Invoiced me $98 for a common broad spectrum antibiotic that my friend paid $41 for yesterday at a different vet hospital. Eye drops 15ml $78 which is a crazy price to pay. Why was I charged so much? I was actually shocked and disappointed. Teeth cleaning is now required. Think I will shop around. Shame though, I really liked everything else.

I have been taking my pets to Booval Vet Hospital for almost 5 years now. My first old boy had to be put to sleep on a Good Friday public holiday & not only were they open & available, they we’re wonderfully compassionate & their fee on a public holiday was extremely reasonable. I now take my other 2 dogs there for all their routine care & the service is always top notch. Caring, friendly, efficient & always reasonably priced. Keep up
the great service you offer, and thank-you.

We took our dog back to the vet for ear problems. Had a check up done for some lumps also. Got some eardrops after microscopic tests and some tablets for itching. Paid $500 for this. We believed that the eardrop was overdosed as the dog got worse so we went back the day after. They reassured all was good and charged us again with $140 vet bill. The dog had gel treatment inbetween $150 per treatment. Few weeks later the dogs ear problem returned. Called for a new appointment and asked for how much it will cost. The consultation fee and eardrop would be $250. I told them I am done here as we keep returning with the same problem and being charged again and again. $800 total was paid and neither treatments worked for neither problem. Reception looked at our accounts for potential compensation but nothing eventuated from it. This vets main priority is their profits and overcharging customer and treating animals seems to be second. Will not be coming back here ever again.

This is an extremely dishonest veterinary clinic with very dubious billing practices. I would highly recommend that any person considering taking thier pet to this clinic to get comparative quotes with another vet before engaging with these crooks.

They are overcharging at every possible opportunity at this clinic and they're ripping everyone off extensively. We were being charged four times the amount for medication that we were able to source elsewhere as a simple example. This is on top of the consultation fee and the prescription fee which actually exceeded the cost of the medication itself.

Do yourself and your pet a favour and take your business to another vet practice that actually prioritises compassion for animals instead of profits.

Although the vets seem competent I feel they push for extra services and try to talk you into spending more money. Perhaps this is the downside of working for a large company that only considers the bottom line not the actual pets and owners. Owners are stressed and upset about their pets problems and are easy prey to this manipulation. Their payment system of only being able to use EFTPOS or credit card but NOT Electronic Transfer is absurd. E-transfer is a legitimate payment system - get with the time Ipswich Vet Group.

I had always used booval vet, until now. I took my girl in after i noticed blood stain coming out of her nose. They noticed her lymph node was enlarged and put her on antibiotics. they said i needed to put my 12 year old under to have x-rays, flushed out her nose if the antibiotics did not work. They couldn't find anything and gave me more antibiotics and if it continues i would need to see a specialist. She was on the antibiotics 2 days later she had 2 massive nose bleeds and skin tissue came out. I called UQ vet who said bring her in with the referral to see the medic. The medic noticed the lymph node up. I said booval said the same thing. She did a simple test to check for cancer, which came back positive. I believe that the flushing of the nose and putting my girl under at an old age contributed in the cancer spreading. I took her home and spent 2 days with her before i had to put her to sleep. If Booval would have done that test instead of unnecessary tests costing a fortune i would have been able to spend a quality 2 weeks giving her stuff she couldn't normally have instead of 2 days. It tares my heart out she had to go through this.

I just want to thank the caring staff at the Booval vet hospital for saving the life of our darling Ella who had a serious gynaecological problem which was hard to diagnose.
Once it had been determined through ultrasound Amy Cronk rushed her into surgery and operated and removed all of the associated infection. She was so personally
involved she told me that she fist pumped and cheered after the procedure proved to be successful.
It was wonderful to hear this from Amy when she removed Ella’s stitches weeks later.
It is through caring compassionate professionals like Amy that we get to keep our very loved pets in our lives and we are very grateful to her and all like her.
I’m sure that not all events like this are successful, but surely the joy of those like ours will outweigh the less successful diagnoses.

This the 2nd time that the BVH has saved our dog as 3 years ago she had a tick bite and was in intensive care for several days and came out the other end fine, fit and as playful as ever.
These vets really care and are very thorough and professional when you need it most,
Kathy M

My family had a horrific experience at the Pine Mountain Vet Clinic, which associated with the Ipswich Vet Group and this vet hospital, where they permanently disfigured our puppy during an unauthorised application of a product causing major trauma and pain to him. Not once have the offered to render assistance. There is a lack of compassion and empathy and they simple do not care. If you love your pet, I implore you to look elsewhere.

I too have had an experience with Booval vet trying to push an unnecessary expensive exploratory surgery on a dog with 1 tooth hole in the back of its neck. Took it to another vet who prescribed antibiotics. Watch for scare tactics to push unnecessary procedures. Very unethical, and not in the animals best interest, to put them under anaesthetic when not necessary.

They are fantastic. I highly recommend going there. they are caring, considerate, and treat all animals as if they were their own. (Including silly names) Will definately be going back. (Hope i don't have to soon though)

Thanks for the review - we do love what we do!
