We had more stuff to move than first estimated. It was a long day and the job was finished in the dark. They had to borrow my torch, but the movers were patient, careful and friendly throughout.

We booked this business based on a recommedation from a friend. They were punctual and friendly. They completed the work quickly and professionally. We were only moving a kilometre or so and they guys worked hard to get this done promptly. I would recommend this business.

Great Value, the guys went about everything with no fuss and our whole transition from a 3 bedroom house in Ballarat to 2 bedroom house in Melbourne was as painless as it could be. Would definitely use again!

Approximate cost: $780

780 covered the whole move from Ballarat to Melbourne in including transit time. No hidden costs or nonsense.

This company is the most unprofessional lot I have ever come across. Was quoted $900 paid nearly $1600 and took twice as long as stated by Rick (mainly due to smoke breaks/lunch breaks). To make it easier I had already packed belongings in boxes and put outside. I had 2 teenagers to help so it would be quicker. Rick and his offsider did as little as possible and the 2 teenagers did the majority of the heavy lifting under the direction of Rick while his offsider stayed in the truck and packed. Rick and offsider took many 1/2 hr smoke breaks and even had the cheek to ask me to drive to the shop for energy drinks and made no offer to pay for them. As another of the reviews said the truck was to small so had to get another after i had provided a detailed inventory. The same happened at the other end where there were 4 people to help. The other truck arrives with my 55inchTV screen shattered which they accepted liability for. Rick agreed to pay through his insurance but as it was insured through Radio Rentals they offered a replacement for $300 which was financially beneficial for Rick so he agreed and said to provide an invoice and it would be paid. Well it has been 8 months and still no payment. After many texts/emails to Rick he states it has been paid and he has proof. After asking many times to produce this proof he is unable to as it has not been paid. Rick you have done nothing but lie and avoid me and you should be ashamed ripping an single mother off as I had to pay the $300 for the TV as well as your costs. Don't bother responding to this as you are incapable of telling the truth as seen in your other responses. DO NOT HIRE THESE SO CALLED REMOVALISTS IF YOU VALUE YOUR POSSESSIONS, DISGUSTING!!!

Unlike you Rick i have the proof being text messages from you accepting liability and the many lies you came up with to avoid payment, an invoice from radio rentals as well as a letter from them in which it states I had to pay for a replacement TV that your removalists shattered beyond repair and the many failed attempts to contact you, a letter from Consumer affairs in which you agreed to pay (but didn't) and also photos of damage. Sorry was a typo, you took many smoko/drink breaks at my expense!!! You can refute the claims as much as you like as i have many witnesses and can certainly back my claims up with proof!! This man new I was a pensioner and on limited funds and still to this day (10mths later) has made no attempt to pay the $300 or make contact but CAN find the time to comment on my post to try to defend his disgusting behavior with yet more lies and deception. I hope the people that read this take heed and I have also spoken with an investigator from A Current Affair and given my story on Shady Removalists and will contact you in due course.. This all could have been avoided had you done the right thing instead of thinking it would all blow over and be forgotten!!

Forgot to mention that they had also left many items still under the carport which required me to hire a caged trailer ($100 at my own expense) the next day. Had i not gone back the next day to clean i wouldn't have known they had left it behind as they were told that everything was to be moved... I also have receipts and witnesses for this!!

Sorry to hear about your experience. I too have had many headaches at the expense of this dishonest and deceitful person. I have fiiled a claim against him through VCAT. I will also be contacting consumer affairs and suggest you do the same.

The guys turned up on time and did a great job. They were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.
I really appreciate the care and effort they took with my belongings. I would use them again and I would recommend them to my friends and family.

Do not use this company! We used them on 1 November 2014 to do a very simple move from a two bedroom house. Communication in the week leading up to the move was very poor. We emailed to confirm the booking after receiving a quote and no response was received and we had to chase by phone. I had requested some packing materials and was advised they would be delivered the following day and they didn't arrive. After several phone calls and emails they were delivered late afternoon the next day.
On the day of the move the movers turned up over an hour late and only after I had called to find out where they were - it was obvious I had woken up the business owner when I called. There were two staff who attended and we were promptly advised that one of them 'didn't really know what she was doing' by the other. The move itself was very slow. My partner and I assisted by carrying items out to the truck to assist in speeding matters up whilst trying to juggle our six month old baby (which was the reason we had employed movers to assist us in the first place). The staff took several extended cigarette breaks (30-40mins) standing there watching us carrying furntiure and boxes and rifling through our hard rubbish pile instead of assisting.
Upon arriving at our new address items were left in the rain despite there being a fully undercover car port only meters away and no care was taken in the unloading of our furniture. Several items significantly damaged and photographs have been sent to the business owner who indicated he was 'investigating the matter' but has not responded to our emails. In particular we witnessed the staff run our baby's brand new high gloss shelving unit down the ramp - laughing while they did so and then dump it on the paving. Two sides of the unit are badly scratched and it will require replacing. There are dents in our stainless steel fridge, our television low line is scratched, cot and new mattress dirty and damaged - to name just a few items.
The business advertises itself as having goods in transit insurance however despite repeated requests the business owner has refused to provide the details of his insurer or any compensation for the damaged items or excessive time taken by his staff notwithstanding we were charged the full hourly rate during each of their extended breaks. We are in process of obtaining legal advice as to proceed against this company.

Approximate cost: $110 plus gst

This customer is never going to be happy
the 2 removalist (Floyd and Victoria) on the day worked fast and hard
when i spoke with this customer in the afternoon
she said that everthing was going fine
the move virtually filled a 12 tonne truck and that is a hell of a lot off furniture coming from a 2 bedroom unit
they also did not mention that it was quite a walk from the unit to the truck
at delivery point the truck was reversed as far as possable to the carport(within a metre or so ) so to avoid the rain

Hi Shannync1, was wondering if you had any luck recovering costs from this company as he seems to have done exactly the same thing to us both?? If you have not received compensation as yet and would like to take matters further please email me on [email protected] and i will be in contact. We only live 10mins from each other...

Don't use this company. We were quoted $99 per hour to relocate office & on the day charged $120 per hour. I have been trying for 4 weeks to get a refund but to no avail & now business phone is disconnected. Do yourself a favour stay away from this company.

Approximate cost: $120

MTL Removalists 24 Mar 2015

this has been sorted and im surpried that this has been posted
as if we were given correct details in first place the refund would have been sorted earlier
this was a clerical mistake made by removalist team and was not a attempt to short change the customer
my appolagies to this customer
regards Rick
