The first time I brought my new dachshund puppy to a puppy playgroup, a lady there advised me to get pet insurance. She told me about her two dachshunds, neither of which she insured, but both of which had IVD. Unfortunately when both of them herniated discs at the same time she could only afford the surgery for one of them. That night I signed up for PIA and it was the best thing that I could have done for my dog.

6 years later my little dachshund was paralysed from a herniated intervertebral disc. She ended up needing 2 spinal surgeries to correct the problem followed by a lengthy stay in hospital to recuperate. All of this was amounting to a huge bill and I was so pleased that I'd heeded that lady's advice. Knowing that our insurance with PIA was covering a significant portion of the bill was a huge weight off my mind. The claim was also settled quickly and efficiently and my dachshund made a full recovery :)

We took out insurance with PIA several years ago as we believed that we wanted to provide the best care possible for our pet should the worst case situation occur, bearing in mind that Vet fees and drugs are extremely expensive and treatment maybe cost prohibited for those without insurance.
Unfortunately our pet dog has been extremely ill this year with costs in excess of $15000. PIA have been fantastic at prompt processing and paying the 80% cover of the claims into our bank account. We sincerely thank PIA for there assistance this year as we would not have our dog now without them!

Pet Insurance Australia have been fantastic! My dog needed a serious surgery which was approximately $10,000 and Pet Insurance Australia covered the full 80% of the bills. They are very efficient in processing claims and have a wonderful customer service team who are very helpful. Have not had one bad experience and have made many claims previously. I have been recommending Pet Insurance Australia to all of my friends and colleagues as they have very competitive rates. Will not be changing companies any time soon!

PIA have been prompt with all our claims and there have been a few due to our dog's allergies, there has never been a problem in the 4 years of dealing with PIA, all claims are communicated with us on receiving our claim and payment is made shortly after without fuss. Insurance companies have a bad name for wanting to take your premiums but finding excuses when it comes to paying out, not PIA, they are a company that I am proud to be linked to. Thank you PIA.
