I have a 12 month old Boston terrier - I have made 3 claims for him in the past 8 months. 2 x for eating human medications (don't let your parents puppy sit) and once for infectious bloody diarrhoea. Each time the claim process was really easy. The first time I called up and someone answered my call within a few minutes. I spoke with a woman who was particularly helpful, not only did she help with my original claim she set me up with online claiming, which is what I have used the other two times I've claimed. It's been a total breeze, and the money has been back in my account with a week of making the claim.

I have both my labradors since 8weeks old insured with PIA. The claims online service is fantastic, the refunded claim is usually within a week. I would recommend PIA to my friends however read the fine print!!!!
I was caught out by this claiming a grass related skin rash within the first 30 days, now i can't claim anything related to one of my dogs skin again because its classed as pre existing condition, even though at the time the dog was 9 weeks old. Just read the policy.
I won't be giving up pet insurance because of this cause having 2 dogs under 2 its not worth it, accidents do happen no matter how careful you are .

We changed to PIA after our previous insurer doubled their premiums on renewal. We couldn't be more impressed with their cover, affordability and efficiency in dealing with claims. I wasn't sure whether pet insurance would be worth it when I bought my Australian Bulldog puppy, however Pet Insurance has been my best investment yet (apart from my little girl of course). We were skeptical about pet insurance when we adopted our first dog, but made the decision to take out a policy because we knew if anything went wrong we wouldn't be able to afford any big vet bills. Basically we couldn't afford NOT to have pet insurance. When our 14 month old pup got really sick with an abscess on his body, TWO MONTHS after taking out the insurance, we could not believe it. His vet bills amounted to approximately $1600.00 and PIA paid 80% of that. The process was easy and the money was paid to us literally within 10 business days of making the claim. All the claims we've made have been very quickly processed. I was very surprised not to mention happy! Also PIA's customer service has been friendly, helpful and efficient and no long waiting times on the phone.
