Have a dog that was adopted from RSPCA and have been very happy with his nature despite him developing skin allergies and diabetes which isn't the fault of RSPCA. Have tried another commercial vet but am happy with RSPCA prices and convenience with times and days they are open.
The quality of the service depends on who the vet is that serves you as some are better (more knowledgeable) than others. If you find a vet you like make sure you get their name and ask for them every time. I use Dr. Voice and after trialling many, I'd definitely recommend him.

Brought my dog to the clinic, the staffs are friendly, the cost are cheaper than many other vets that we used to go. The Vet was fantastic, great knowledge, gave many good advices and recommendations and she's great with my dog, made her feel relaxed as she's normally very nervous with other vets.

Great quality VET services, affordable and reasonable pricing, our Dog is happy to go there every time because she does not feel like a pet but a guest.

I always bring my pets here for the vet clinic as well as grooming - I like knowing that any "profits" go back to helping other animals, and the staff who work here obviously are passionate about what they are doing. My dog absolutely loves his visits to the vets - that should tell you something!

I went to the RSPCA to adopt a dog. I stated clearly that I was after a dog that was good with kids and other dogs. One with a friendly temperament. I was attracted to one dog in particular 'pumpkin', but was told that this dog was a kelpie, not for a suburban back yard. 'Farm dog only' read the sign. I was encouraged to take another dog, "this one would be perfect" I was told. I found this dog hard to handle. He displayed dominant characteristics. My partner went in the following day and asked about the dog that was recommended. She was told by an RSPCA staff member that he, himself, would never take this dog. He was not a good choice given our criteria. My partner was also attracted to pumpkin. We went in together on another occasion. We tested the dog that was recommended to me with other dogs. It was aggressive towards all of them. We tested pumpkin, skinny, uncertain and placid for a kelpie (she was not pure breed). We took pumpkin. I was told to exercise her between 4km to 10 km per day. I started to exercise her in the manner suggested, but pumpkin could not cope. It resulted in joint problems because of excessive exercise at a young age. We soon discovered that she was deaf. 12 months on ...she has been the perfect dog for us. Placid, gentle and slowly gaining confidence. I am so glad that we did not follow the guide of the RSPCA staff.

We got our cat from the RSPCA the staff were so lovely and careing, and Sid our Cat is so wonderful we cannot imagine life without him. I have also had to call the RSPCA for advice on occasions and they have always offered great suggestions or helped out. Such a great organisation.

We got our cat and dog from RSPCA when they were young, and we took them back to the Vet there for their boosters. They also offer (or did, not sure if they still do) a free behavioral consultation - where you can go and get some free advice.

The staff have always been friendly and have always been acting kindly towards the animals. The vets have been willing to answer questions and I never felt that we were brushed away or pushed through quickly like you can feel in some places. The facilities are always clean and we've never had to wait long.

As far as adopting from there goes, we've been very impressed, and would not buy another cat/dog from anywhere else. The cost is far cheaper than you can buy a cat/dog from a petshop, and they come desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and most of all they do a temperament check before they adopt them out. We originally were looking at different dog to what we got, and the staff talked us out of it, saying that the dog was too energetic for our household and not suitable around our then toddler. Which was sad at the time, but was the best decision for us. We've also taken advantage of their puppy preschool, which we found very useful.

One thing I think they could improve on though is the addition of some sort of program for socialising adult dogs.

We went here to look for a puppy. The staff were so helpful and they insisted that we return home to get our other dog (bit of a pain as it is SO far away) so that the puppy and our dog could be let out in the yard to ensure that they get along etc. It was great to see how much they all loved the puppy and cared about where he would be going.
