I was a little hesitant,however attended on a work trip and was pleasantly surprised. The food and mood was great - special but not fussy. Food was fresh, wine delicious, and I loved the novelty of being on the move. I am taking other relatives again this weekend. I thought it may be just a tourist trap, however not at all - a lovely and novel experience.

We tried the late sitting after previously trying the early one, and we were amazed at the difference. Much better value and the wine flows more readily! I recommend this to all, but forget the early sitting and put a bit more aside to get the late sitting.

I have been on the tram car twice now in the past few year and WOW!! What a fantastic night out. The service both times has been five star, the food is great, even more so considering the tiny space the chef has to cook. The drink service is excellent, your glass never gets empty. Its expensive but honestly worth every cent.

We went on the tram for lunch, which was delicious. We had dip and pate and sparkling wine,entree and wine, mains, cheese and tea/coffee and liqueur. the atmosphere was great. The staff fun and friendly, quite happily filling your glass and sharing jokes. I would definitely go again...my only gripe was that it didn't seem long enough although it was 2 hours!

This is definitely somewhere to take visitors to Melbourne. Wasn't expecting the food to be very exciting, but it was surprisingly good. Great atmosphere.

My partner and I got engaged on the The Colonial Tramcar Restaurant. We choose to go on the late session which runs round the city tram tracks between 8:35pm - 11:30pm. It is a great way to see the sights of the city. The late dinner consists of a 5 course meal. Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. A very romantic evening in all. Definitely a night to remember. Will go again.

We were delighted with the service and professional approach of the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant, a perfect setting for our intimate wedding evening. The food is very good and our host made our evening even more enjoyable. We love the beautiful atmosphere and decor, and would very much recommend the Tramcar Restaurant.

It was wonderful. The quality of food is far beyond most other restaurants, let alone one on a tram. The atmosphere that you get enhances the whole experience. And although a little pricy, the early session we went on wasn't too overly priced. I can't wait to go back again one day!

My partner took us on the Tramcar Restaurant for my birthday. I was a bit unsure about the idea but as it turned out, we both had a wonderful time. The waitstaff were professional and friendly. Everyone was made to feel welcome. The "old world" decor and warm lighting added to the ambience. The food was absolutely delicious. The only gripe is that it was all over way too soon (we chose the early dinner which goes for 90 minutes). We intend to go on the Tramcar for future birthdays and/or anniveraries but will go for the 3 hr (it goes much quicker than you'd think). Bit pricey overall but not too bad if you take into consideration that beer, wine and spirits are included in the cost.

Very pleasantly surprised. I would never had tried this restaurant if it had not been for a gift voucher. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an alternative restaurant experience. The whole idea seemed a little dorky at the start but those feelings were soon overridden by what I saw as a little traveling adventure through the city of Melbourne. Our waiter was very attentive. The service was amongst the best I've experienced. Would go back in a flash.
