A real institution. The food is retro, so some gourmands may not find it up to speed. Can't beat the history, location, and you never know who may wander past. Still worth a visit. A true local!
Difficult to get into Coin Laundry as its always full of locals - a great sign! Friendly, relaxed, just like you'd like your local cafe to be. We had cakes, coffees and fresh croissants which were beautifully presented and had nice touches like a whole jar of jam (rather than a nasty little plastic container). Good coffees and looking forward to my next visit. Seemed very pet and child friendly too with nice outdoor areas.
A real surprise package. Tucked behind an unpretentious suburban street entrance, this restaurant was great. Food fresh and fabulous, but what really made the evening was the service. Nothing was too much trouble and the napery, glasses etc were lovely quality. I was with some serious foodies who were all impressed too!

I was a little hesitant, however attended on a work trip and was pleasantly surprised. The food and mood was great - special but not fussy. Food was fresh, wine delicious, and I loved the novelty of being on the move. I am taking other relatives again this weekend. I thought it may be just a tourist trap, however not at all - a lovely and novel experience.
A good solid local restaurant with relaxed vibe and friendly staff. My experiences here have always been great, however some of the feedback has been mixed from others. Olivier is very welcoming and his hospitality really adds to the experience.

Went with an older friend on a Friday night so found the backbar a haven away from the 20 somethings out the front. The wait staff were incredible. We didn't dine: just had cocktails poured from an old-fashioned shaker - a real experience. Toilets a bit crowded with the party crowd - but so quiet in the back bar. Fab!
Fantastic dining experience. I went with some regular restaurant-goers and they were really impressed by the freshness, fun atmosphere and great service. Cute small servings/tasting plates to choose from. A little squeezy and noisy, but all part of the fun. Recommended!
A fantastic special occasion restaurant. Creative food, amazing flavours and fresh, non-pretentious setting. Very enjoyable experience. One of my fellow diners wasn't expecting the $$$ bill, however calmed down when he realised just what a wonderful time he'd had. Can't wait for my next visit.

Lovely setting for a celebratory dinner with friends. Interesting food and wines, and a sense of 'special occasion' without being too snooty. Everyone I dined with enjoyed themselves. Good alternative to Vue de Monde at a reasonable price.
Approximate cost: $35
I've eaten here a few times. The variety and pricing is very good, and during summer it is great to take one of their lunch boxes into the lovely grounds of Heide to enjoy (boxes are only around $15). Relaxed ambiance for families and groups.
