We got take away fish and chips from here after reading all the good reviews and were not disappointed. The fish is fresh and on display. Portions were generous and not overly greasy. Lemon wedges were included, and packaged on boxes then wrapped. Overrall we were very happy, but it is slightly more expensive than our local fish and chip shops and further to drive to so we won't go here every time.

Approximate cost: $8

I got a recommendation for this place and have never looked back. They repair shoes really well and I trust them with my favourite and expensive shoes. When I was doing a bit of interstate travel I got fustrated at having to take my shoes off all the time to go through security, and when I asked the guys if they could do anything to prevent my shoes from going off they gave me a bit of a funny look, but when I picked them up they looked like they had done something different and sure enough next time I didn't have to take my shoes off going through security!! The main point is that these guys repair your shoes properly, and you don't have to go running back there every second week to get your shoes resoled... it can get quite expensive with some womens shoes. Its worth going out of your way to get your shoes done here.

We attended one of Victoria's Birthready classes which was run over a weekend in East Melbourne. It was very intensive - we learnt so much in such a short amount of time! Definitely very worthwhile - all of the material presented was supplementary to that provided by the hospital classes that we did (i.e. there was very little double up), and the information is presented in a way that was not forceful of opinions. We learnt a lot about the birthing process and what to expect, some strategies for dealing with events on the big day, and also learnt some early parenting techniques. One thing which I found really valuable in the class was the intervention chart, which really highlighted how one intervention can lead to another and lead to a birth that you might not want. I would highly recommend Victoria's workshops to anyone who is pregnant... it is a little bit of knowledge that every first time parents should be aware of. A course like this also helps ensure that if you aren't both on the same page already (in terms of the birthing education), that you will be after the course. Very worthwhile.

I went to this dentist purely out of convenience - since I used to live in this street, however I'm glad I did because he is a really good dentist. Very gentle, pleasant to talk to. I think he gets it that everyone hates going to the dentist, but he makes it as unpleasant as possible, there is usually classical music playing and you look out the window at green trees while your in the room so its as relaxing as its ever going to get. I've only been to two other dentists and most people dont tend to chop and change, but I'm glad I ditched my previous one (he was too rough) and saw Dr Cataldo.

I've been here for lunch quite a few times now, and it is becoming a favourite in Camberwell. They have very comfy chairs, tables aren't too crowded, good food at reasonable prices (there are two menus - and the light lunch ones are great). Finally they have fitted it out really well so it looks smart too! The staff are nice and friendly and its never very busy for some strange reason - hopefully this review doesn't change that too much :)

We trusted these guys with our gorgeous little kitty kat, and they looked after her. When we got her back she was of course very glad to see us, and looked the same as when we'd dropped her off.... there was another place we had taken her to and she had some fur missing from her - presumably she was worried and it was self-inflicted. I like this vet because the staff seemed to really like cats and they said that they let them have some time each day to run around and were accomodating to the fact that she likes to drink out of taps rather than a bowl!! The daily rate was very competitive, though I can't remember exactly how much.

They baked our wedding cake for us - a white chocolate croquembouche, studded with white roses. We were really happy with the quality of the cake and they delivered on the day without any hiccups. They were so easy to deal with that I was convinced something was going to go wrong - but no, everything was perfect. I had a discount voucher from the wedding show, so their pricing was competitive with other cake shops, but otherwise would have been a little higher, hence the 4 stars for value.

We had some help from Cindy and Sara in the planning and management of our wedding. It was great to have Cindy managing things on the big day so that I could enjoy the wedding and focus on remember things like the vows and the dance! They have some great contacts/providers and I think we got some really high quality services and/or products for what we paid. It does seem a bit indulgent to have a wedding planner, but my husband and I both agree that they took (some of) the stress out of planning a wedding and meant that we didn't fumble quite so much as we might have while trying to organise everything. They do this stuff every day, and most people hope to only have one wedding, so it makes sense to have some expert help. I thought their pricing structure was good in that it allowed some flexibility - and we chose to do some things ourselves which reduced the costs.

I had a fairly straightforward pregnancy, and aimed to have as natural a birth as possible, but wanted the reassurance of having an obstetrician. Peter was very supportive of my wishes to have a natural birth, and I pretty much got this with the exception of a little help from the ventouse at the end to speed up second stage labour. He is a very caring and straightforward obstretrician, who seems to be also very well respected by the midwives that were caring for me during the labour (they confided that he was one of the better ones and that he listens to the patient - which he did with me). He also did as much as possible to prevent me from tearing just prior to the head appearing, and I managed to avoid an episiotomy and came out with just one stitch. He is not afraid to use alternative medicine (eg accupuncture) for preventative measures (such as when baby is up the wrong way). Its not a cheap exercise having a baby, and the fees were about mid range from what I found.

I have had numerous facials here and they are a real indulgence! Very relaxing and some even include a neck/shoulder massage. They use La Prairie products, along with a few other brands such as Ultraceuticals. I've also had a fake tan applied here for my wedding and they did a brilliant job... just enough to add some colour but without it looking like I had anything done. I've also had leg waxes and they are thorough and don't leave any hairy patches. Amber is great.
