try the Agedashi Tofu (I try it everywhere and this is my favourite), Chicken Teriyaki, the freshest sushi and sashimi along with the gyoza and Japanese curry. A few of the meals served in hotpots tended to be a little bland for our tastes, but everything else is a hit. must admit one of the reason to go back to melbie :P im a food hunter

Let's face it, food quality is not high on the agenda at teppanyaki restaurants. You are here to be entertained, and being fed is a side effect of the chef's theatrics and the food throwing games. Ginza Teppanyaki is no different, but that doesn't mean we didn't have a laugh and great night.

It is extremely fresh (sushi and sashimi in particular) and the cooked meals are just delightful. You want to keep on eating long after your stomach has had enough! The restaurant is not ritzy looking by any means, but everyone is happy to help and service is quick.

I love this place. I love the seafood udon. I'm addicted. Will actually have some tonight. Little Japanese man cooks all the food himself in the kitchen right next to you. Set in a renovated home come restaurant.

Solid, good-quality Japanese cuisine.Furniture and decoration were pretty mediocre, but that doesn't matter. What matters more is FOOD and SERVICE. I loved the omelette with eel inside it (yum!), and the quality of sashimi and sushi was quite good (compared to the quality you could expect in average restaurants in Japan)

Unfortunately, the last few visits have been less that good infact quite poor. I always hope when I walk in through the door again after a long break that it has improved but alas it has lost its luster. There are many good Japanese restaurants around Melbourne and Aya is no longer one of them.

Tried the Wagyu beef on a hotplate and gyoza here and they were quite good. The beef was nice, tender and tasty and gyoza's were reasonably big in size compaired to the offerings in other restaurants. I would visit this place more often if not for their pricey menu items. The place didn't really have that much customer's for a weeknight in my opinion due to this higher cost compared to more reasonably priced japanese restaurants nearby.

This is a wonderful way to enjoy great food. The style is that mix of Japanese with the mixture of other cuisines from around the world, Australia does that style for thing so well. The service was so helpful and great wine choices

The food is great and fresh, staff are friendly, and atmosphere is fantastic, just as what a japanese restaurant should be. Its relatively cheap too!About $20 each and all well fed. Service was friendly and homely. Definitely go again with a few nice bottles of vino.
