The food was fresh and delicious. The sushi sashimi platter for one is a very large serve and I recommend that its shared between two. The sashimi is always extremely fresh. The staff are fast and very attentive.
I visited this restaurant when I was visiting Melbourne from Sydney. I luv the sushi bar, albeit a bit expensive, We dare not to bite onto the sushi until we hear the command sent down from the head chef. We were holding our stomachs when we were leaving.
This is one of my fav restaurants in Melbourne (the other being Society) and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants the best Sushi in Melbourne and enjoys great service or The above two at great value.
Excellent well priced authentic Japanese restaurant with Japanese chefs - delicious and beautifully presented food. Service is also excellent!!! Hard to find but worth it!!! Try japanese sake!!
The food here is extremely expensive and the price does not reflect the effort taken to cook the food. I must admit that I like Murasaki in a way. A lot of the food is well executed and traditionally tasty, however, relative to the high prices it is just not fair at all.
taken by my friend who live local, i could say the freshest, best value sushi handrolls I have eaten! This is a great value place with fantastic food. Not the best place for a sit down meal, but at these prices you can't expect everything. For a quick meal or take-away, this place can't be beaten.
An amazing Japanese restaurant experience. Definitely not for everyone but truly a journey for the sushi and sashimi lover! This is a place to appreciate and not somewhere to go to be seen.
One of my favourites, love the food and the decor. I end up ordering far too much as I want to try new menu items but can't resist those I've had before. Apart from over eating, haven't had any bad experiences here at all, and always found staff to be courteous and efficient at each visit.
As for the food though, hmmm, quite ordinary at overpriced for what it was. The california rolls were tiny, karaage (fried chicken) was small and overcooked, onigiri (rice ball) with el cheapo bega cheese was ordinary, tonkatsu (pork cutlet) was really tough and tasted like cheap pork, Miso pork belly was nothing special either, tempura was nice but came with a strange beetroot yoghurt rather than traditional grated daikon dipping sauce, fish was nice though as was the Yakitori (Grilled Chicken), dessert of chocolate spring roll was a really poor end to an average meal.
The food is god damn delicious, its mixed with many styles but still japanese food. I could say one of the best modern japanese food I've ever had. I been to many japanese restaurants in Melbourne which operate and cook by japanese in Melbourne. Horoki give me the feeling that it could be one of the best.
