This cafe looks very interesting from outside that's why I decided to try. The ambience is nice and comfortable. The food is alright, nothing special. The service was alright. However, there was this waitress, keep talking with her friends whom came for lunch. The price is quite expensive for the food which are not really excellent.

I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel + chips + salad and beer deal at $18 which I found to be great value, the quality of the offering was first class. For dessert I ordered the Apple Tart which was exquisite, the pastry was thin and crispy and the apple slices were just as delicious. I really enjoyed my dining experience and will be going back.

I went here with some girlfriends after work on Friday and it was the perfect wine casual place. I will definitely be back for more. It's a gorgeous little place with lovely food. I had the zucchini flowers, risotto (which was delish) and the lemon and orange tart.

've been looking forward to dining at Rae's for a long time, and the food and atmosphere didn't disappoint. Both were divine, sensational fresh produce, generous proportions, nothing overly ambitious, and a setting that truly takes your breath away. You do pay for it though, $32 entrees, $45 mains and $12 sides, reasonable if you get what you pay for, but it missed the mark for me on this occasion.

I had read a lot about this restaurant and went there last Saturday. We were both really impressed and thank goodness we have found an excellent restaurant on the north shore as they are definitely lacking, especially further up the Pacific Highway where we live. We arrived quite late after the movies so only ordered mains. My partner had the duck which was fantastic, not dry, not fatty, cooked to perfection with red cabbage and potato style dumplings.

We love this place! The french onion soup is to die for and all of the meat dishes equally lovely. The place is tiny (only seats about 12 max!)The atmosphere was fantastic, small, quite crowded and very intimate but also very very french, the music was wonderful and the food was as good as we had expected

The food was okay but a little below expectations. Avalon is a bit out of the way if you're not a local but I had a crave for some good French food. The menu looked great and the onion soup starter was fine but the mains just didn't quite click.

This review is for La Peniche, Stanmore NSW

If you are thinking of eating at La Peniche, my advice is - don't. The food is OK but ordinary, and the night I went the service was rude and inefficient, orders were wrong, we were hurried through our meal and then made to feel so uncomfortable that we left much earlier than we really wanted to.
