I love the breakfast menu at Quarry Salamanca, particularly the buttermilk pancakes and bircher muesli.
Some of the main meals at dinner can be expensive, such as the beef which is $37, but there are some reasonably priced items on the menu for around $20.
I think the breakfast is well priced, especially considering the beautiful venue. The prices are comparable to other venues that serve that type of breakfast ($10-$20).
It's a great venue for New Years Eve as they often offer an all inclusive package.

This review is for Lansdowne Pool, West Hobart TAS

Unfortunately this pool is temporarily closed while they are doing renovations, but they look like they'll open again soon.
I normally use the pool once a week with some friends for an hour long warm soak and chat. It's such great value as you get the pool to yourself.
It's fantastic to help relieve pregnancy pains without having to worry about what you look like in bathers - because it's a private pool.

This is Hobart's first specialist cup cake store. They do sell out very quickly so if you're after something particular you need to go in early before they sell out.
All the cupcakes are beautifully decorated so they would make a lovely unique gift for someone's birthday.
My favourite is the jaffa cupcake.

Approximate cost: $4

I've been into this restaurant a few times just for their icecream and gelato. They have a fantastic range of frozen treats in a take away section, so you don't have to eat a meal at the restaurant to have a gelato after your meal.

This review is for Chemist On Collins , Hobart TAS

verified email - 11 Nov 2009

I often go to this chemist as it's conveniently located in the city and near a doctor's office.
It's reasonably small so they don't have a large range of all things, but they do offer a slightly different range of products. For example, they have a few different skin care and sunscreen ranges I haven't seen elsewhere (imported from France I believe).
The customer service is fantastic as the staff are always willing to help.

This review is for Lime & Lemongrass, Bellerive TAS

We often get takeaway from Lime & Lemongrass, and they are pretty fast at preparing the items. It's reasonably easy to get parking nearby.
They have recently changed their menu, and unfortunately my favourite dish is no longer available (Lime & Lemongrass special).
Although the food tastes nice I don't think it's the best value for money.

This review is for Baby 2 Kids, Bellerive TAS

I bought a lot of my baby furniture and products from this store (cot, bassinett, car seat, capsule, bedding etc). They gave me a great deal which also included a 5% discount card which I can use everytime I go back now.
It's family owned and the family has a number of children themselves, so they really do understand your needs and offer fantastic advice which is great when you're shopping for items for your first child.

This review is for Shoreline Hotel, Howrah TAS

We often go here for family meals because of the great indoor and outdoor childrens area.
It's great if you're watching your weight as they have many healthy main options availabe and you can get steamed vegetables and fresh salads from the salad bar.
Plenty of nearby free parking and the venue also has acommodation and an Oasis gaming venue.

This review is for Oceana Health & Fitness, Mornington TAS

Oceana has recently won a healthy and fitness industry award as the best gym for 2009. It is such great value and it has everything you want in a gym.
They offer everything from boot camp, aerobics classes through to aqua aerobics and swim lessons for babies from 6 months of age. The pool is warm and well kept.

This review is for Olive Restaurant & Wine Bar, Bellerive TAS

verified email - 11 Nov 2009

I have been back to this wine bar and restaurant numerous times as I love the decor and atmosphere, as well as the food.
The menu has a great selection of dishes to choose from, and the staff are friendly and helpful without being too over the top.
