This review is for Harvey Norman, Malaga WA

I firstly would like to clarify I am reviewing the Furniture department.

All departments are run independently apparently and I have had no trouble with the service in the technology area.

I would also like to add even after writing on facebook, twitter, review sites like this one and forums, Not 1 person from Harvey Norman has contacted me!

6 months ago I moved to Perth from Sydney with my boyfriend. We needed to furnish our house and we wanted to do it right with quality furniture that would last. We figured Harvey Norman would be a good place to start as they supposedly pride themselves on Customer Service.

The customer service was fine right up until the furniture was delivered to our front door.

We had purchased a tv unit, 2 very expensive (but comfortable) office chairs and a 7 seater couch with 2 consoles.

When everything arrived we first opened the office chairs.. The bases were broken. The part that was broken was just part of the aesthetics and did not affect the function of the chair. However when you buy new things you dont want them broken

We called Harvey Norman who advised us that we would have to bring the chairs back in for them to look at. When we did take them in for someone to look at, they told us no one was there that had any authority so we would have to come back.

We went back another time and they agreed to send us out replacement base parts

When the base parts arrived they did not fit. But when we spoke to the manager at the store they just snobbed us telling us we must be putting it together wrong as it was the right piece

After numerous phone calls, they agreed to send a staff member to our house to view the item. As soon as he saw the chair and the replacement part he agree it was the wrong part. He then proceeded to call his manager who then laughed at him on the phone and told him to bring it to the store as they didnt believe him either.

Why bother sending out an employee to check something if you don't trust them!

About 2 months after purchase we received our new chairs.

Couch-
the corner piece of the couch has a zip on the back of the couch which was broken.
we called Harvey Norman who advised us that we needed to send them pictures as we were not able to take the couch to the store to be viewed. After i emailed them pictures. they sent 2 guys out to take pictures and write up a report.
We were in the process of scotch guarding the couch when we had noticed. and had already spent $200 on scotch guard.
We were then told they could not replace the corner piece as it may be a slightly different colour to the rest of the couch. So the manager offered to scotch guard the new couch for us and give us the scotch guard insurance policy for all the trouble we have had.

We thought that was very generous so when they told us it would take a further month or so before we had a couch we did not complain. However after a month when we called they told us that the shipment did not arrive and we needed to wait another 6 weeks for the next shipment.

When the lounge did finally arrive 6 months after we purchased it.. the delivery guys had no information on them to prove it had been scotch guarded. We knew that with everything we had already been through if we accepted this couch and it had not been scotch guarded we would never get the scotch guarding and we would end up having to pay another $200 to get it done..

So we called Harvey Norman Malaga who advised us the manager was on holidays till Monday and that there was nothing on the system about scotch guard so we could either take the couch or wait till Monday.

We let the delivery guys go and waited till Monday to call Harvey Norman again. When we spoke to the manager she pretty much told us we were LIARS! and that she would never offer to give us the warranty with the scotch guard and it was our own fault we didnt have a couch cause we sent the delivery guys away.

It has now been nearly 7 months since we purchased the couch and we still have the broken couch sitting in our lounge room. We have called Harvey Norman Numerous times and each time we call they tell us they have call the manufacturer to organise a time to re-deliver our couch and they play the victim in this whole situation.

Tv unit- also arrived broken and all scratched at the front. We asked for a replacement as we did like the look of the unit but after 2 months they told us they would just give us a refund. we though had to continue to call them to see what was happening as they did not keep us up to date

I though the whole point of having shops and stores was for the face to face customer service. Franky I have had much better service from our online experiences when things have gone wrong. They are quick to fix anything apologize for any inconvenience and most offer you something for your troubles.

I will never be purchasing anything from HARVEY NORMAN MALAGA- furniture department and I would advise everyone else to steer clear!

while they may be pleasant while you are handing over your cash.. once they have it they don't give a shit about you!

Oh on another point don't bother filling out their complainants form on their website or Facebook. the complaint only gets redirected to the store your complaining about.. which they then mark as settled...

If only Gerry Harvey knew what was going on... then maybe he would understand why so many choose to shop online.

I wish i could upload pictures to my review to show you the tiny portions of food I got so you know im not exaggerating..

My boyfriend and I got a scoopon and went to check this place out even though we read reviews that said the portions were small.. We definitely didn't expect what we were served. My boyfriend ordered the game platter.. which I would assume that when you describe anything as a platter it would a decent size. instead he got 4 very thinly sliced pieces of meat that a small lady would call a mouthful.. definitely not something you would need to cut..
I ordered the reef and beef with was a little more substantial but we were still hungry after and ended up at mcdonalds.

the deserts were cut so thinly they were lying down on the plate because they couldnt stand up. At its thickest it was the width of my pinky finger...

would recommend everyone to stay away from this place even if you get a scoopon its not worth it.

I would have paid at most $5 for my meal.. or whatever you would like to call it..

This review is for Ubank

For my High Interest Savings Account I use Ubank current interest rate as at 28/4/2012 5.41% or 6.01% with bonus.

You have access to you money 24/7 to transfer to and from any linked account you set up.

Bonus 0.5% interest if you set up an automatic savings plan depositing $200+ into your account every month.

No fee's.

interested calculated daily, paid monthly.

*Must set up automated Savings Plan
There are Higher Interest Rates than 5.41% so if you don't set up your "Automated Savings Plan" then you would be better off with a different account

This review is for Ai Insurance, Kotara NSW

verified email - 07 Oct 2012

AI insurance offered the most extra's and the best premium. Just a few of the things I found AI Insurance offered that other companies didn't offer at their basic price. Please take not of points 5 & 6 as these were the 2 main things that got me. :)

While a number (not all) of insurance companies offer free window repair at no extra cost. AI Insurance go another step & give you 1 free window repair or replacement per year.
60% No Claim Bonus to all customers who have not had an accident in the previous few years. (can't remember the exact number of years.)
Complimentary 24/7 road side assistance- (I don't think they are offering this free anymore I think its extra)
Excess is reduced by $150 every year you stay with AI Insurance
If you purchase one of their value add ons (which I did) It reduces your excess by 50%
Chipex cost $240 per year or $20 per month
You get $600 worth of minor repairs for small dents & scratches- twice a year ie $1200
No excess, very few questions.

This place is SOOO CHEAP!!

All my neighbours think im crazy for driving all the way to wangara to go shopping and they keep saying im spending more in fuel. But I really doubt it and im sure I could prove them wrong if i want to work out the costing.

Just last week I bought a 10kg bag of onions for $1!!! yes $1

I know i dont need 10 kilo of onions and they will probably go off before i can eat them.. but you cant buy 1 kilo of onions for $1 at coles or woolworths! so even if i only keep 1 kilo and give the rest away to family friends.. neighbours who think your crazy... etc.. Its still worth it!

well its not if you only buy onions... but we got scotch fillet for $8/kilo

20 kilos of carrots for $4
1 kilo basa fish $4
enoke mushrooms $3/ kilo
chicken wings $2 /kilo

heaps more specials that change regularly

Approximate cost: $can fill the back of our boot for $10 sometimes!

This review is for The Wild Fig Cafe, Scarborough WA

verified email - 07 Oct 2012

originally from Sydney so we asked our flatmate where a nice place to eat was. he sent us to Scarborough to this Shonky little run down cafe that had mushrooms on toast for $25!!!!

So appalled by the look of this place we figured we could do better and went for a drive up the coast line. A few mins drive up we found the wild fig.

first look is very inviting but then you think its going to cost you an arm and a leg. situated on the water with fantastic views and park right next door.

To our surprise the meals on offer were prices very reasonable especially considering the location and what we had just seen 5 mins down the road...

Everything was very tasty and we could have sat there for hours drinking coffee and just enjoying the view.

This place is fantastic! the food is great and only offer the best beer! lol..

We did have to wait about 25 mins for out food as it was so busy. Hard to even find a table. But we asked one of the waiters to check for us and he came straight back out to us with some free brushetta and told us it should only be another 5 mins.
Sure enough 5 mins later our food arrived.

Beer was about $10 a pint but thats is standard in perth apparently.. (originally from sydney) so considering you get little creatures its not a bad price.

Overall very happy and wish we lived closer.
