Poet's Cafe is in a fantastic location in the main street of Montville with an amazing rainforest backdrop. The decor is old world and stylish and creates a warm and inviting ambience.

The menu is extensive and the fare is of a high quality - pity about the prices though - it's so expen$ive!

The range of services offered by this salon is impressive and significant investment has been made in utilising technology to the best advantage eg. online booking service, (very convenient and user-friendly), SMS appointment confirmation service, e-newsletters, social networks etc.
The salon is well designed and appointed – I particularly liked the location of the basins in an area separated from the main area of the salon, away from other clients gawking at you when you're in an awkward position having your hair washed(!). The lounge-style seats and basins are also more comfortable than the fixtures at your average hairdresser.
Great promotions – I took advantage of the January 2012 promotion of a free colour (any colour) with the booking of a stylecut and blowdry. The stylist seemed competent and was friendly enough, but made me feel like I was a bit of an inconvenience on a Saturday morning because they were so busy.
I attended the salon a few days later to advise that I was dissatisfied with the end result; I wasn't happy with the cut or the colour – similar to esmek, the foils were not positioned close enough to the scalp, the end result being what looked like 6 week old foils and a very obvious line of peroxide two inches above my hairline.
The stylist I spoke with on this occasion seemed a little defensive, but made another appointment for me the following Saturday, to discuss exactly what I was unhappy about. I suggested that at least some styling tips would be useful. I had to subsequently cancel this appointment and left a voice message requesting that someone contact me to reschedule.
Overpriced for a suburban salon....and concerning that factual and constructive criticism is not well received.

....and now that I have your attention, here are the correct ratings: Quality (2 stars), Service (1 star), Value (2 stars), Overall (1 star - I'm surprised they're still in business!)
Service Industry Tip #1: The customer is always right.
If I ask for a regular supershake (3 scoops of icecream) with 6 add-ins, don't tell me that (a) I can't have any add-ins with a regular size supershake and that (b) I can only have a large supershake (4 scoops of icrecream) with 1 add-in!
I have supported this store with repeat business over several years and have never experienced anything but bad service from staff that are remarkably candid about not wanting to be there....at least they're consistent though: a good product always served with a fresh, healthy dose of chocolate-covered, bubblegum-flavoured, nutty-crunch awful attitude that leaves a bad taste in the mouth :( I strongly recommend that you go and enjoy the 31 flavours at Baskin-Robbins down the road :)
