This review is for The Meatball Bar, Leederville WA

I wasn't sure how to categorise this place! It's a restaurant, but also a bar. It's not tapas, however I believe the food is best shared like tapas. Apparently meatball bars are all the rage in New York at the moment - and at first I was skeptical, but after trying this amazing food, I will be back again and again! I visited on a Wednesday night with my husband and another couple. I had been unable to make a booking (1) because they don't have a phone yet and (2) even when walking in earlier in the day, they said they could only take bookings for over 6 people. That sucked, as we had to wait 25 minutes for a table due to the restaurant being so busy, but the owner was extremely apologetic and treated us very well.

I had the pumpkin and ricotta meatballs in parmesan cream sauce. AMAZING. The best thing I've ever tasted (and good the next day too, as they let me have a doggie bag). Polenta chips and truffle scented focaccia were great for mopping up the sauce. I was also able to sample the gnocchi (delicious) and butter chicken meatballs (wow). The atmosphere is a bit loud, so great for a fun night out - probably not good for families at night time but probably great during the day.

I can't comment on the drinks menu as we were able to BYO for free, but when the liquor licence comes through this will stop.

WOW WOW WOW! This place is my new favourite. Fresh noodles, handmade daily, no MSG. Noodle Forum is a small cosy noodle bar tucked away in the Equus Arcade. Each dish is around $12. I visited on a Saturday at 2:00 pm with my husband and it wasn't too busy and was easy to find a table. I had the crispy chicken noodles, which are drier and a good choice considering I was wearing good clothes and didn't want to risk spatters. My husband had the Laksa (much more adventurous and soupy). Both were fresh and bursting with flavour. The servings are very large, I would have been happy sharing just one bowl. I wish they were open for dinner on nights other than Friday!

Multimedia Makers made a video for our business. They were patient and listened to our ideas and vision. The price charged was very reasonable, service was professional and they allowed us to edit the script as we pleased before final shooting. The final video is well polished and is exactly what we needed. I've dealt with other video production companies before and these guys have the best value to quality ratio.

I am currently in the process of having a medium size website built by the team at CreativeADM. Their service is professional, personalised and warm, and they are honest and fair. I couldn't recommend them enough!

This review is for The Old Crow, Perth WA

verified email - 21 Sep 2014

I visited The Old Crow for dinner on a Wednesday night at 7:30 pm with my husband. The staff were extremely friendly. We sat outside, which was fine even on a September night as they have heaters and blankets to warm you up. From speaking with others, it seems that you have to have a large booking to sit inside the heritage house part, and even if you book far ahead for a small group you probably won't sit right inside the house - you'll probably sit inside the glass addition to the side of the house.

Bread was complimentary (hooray!) and we ordered one main meal (slow low roasted pork), one entree (Jerusalem artichokes) and one side (corn) to share, which was enough food for us (we're not huge eaters - but if had've still been hungry, we would have tried the chocolate peanut butter tart). The pork was good - saucy and tender - but we actually enjoyed the vegetables more and they seemed better value as the Pork was quite expensive (around $35). My recommendation would be definitely to share some dishes, as I wouldn't want to be eating a whole plate of Pork by myself (there wasn't much else on that dish - I don't think it's designed to be a main meal by itself and should be accompanied by sides).

Overall, the atmosphere was romantic but casual and I think it's a great place for a date or for an intimate dinner with friends.

This review is for Aravina Estate, Yallingup WA

On a recent trip to Dunsborough, my husband and I went to lunch at Aravina Estate (extra tip - it's in the 2014 entertainment book!) The view from the restaurant is amazing, as is the wine and food.

It was great to be able to taste the wines at the cellar door before dining so I could decide which wine I wanted with my meal. Shame that you have to pay more for the bottle when consuming it at the restaurant (I suppose all wineries do this, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me). I had a handmade papardelle dish with roast lamb and beurre blanc - amazing!!! I am still dreaming about this dish months later.

Usually in fancy restaurants the portions are small, but our meals filled us up so much that we couldn't fit entrees or desserts in.

If you're into fancy cars, there's a collection you can view next to the restaurant - this was fascinating even for us.

The perfect place for a casual meal and cider on a lazy afternoon. There are some really healthy meal options here, and even though I eat everything I noticed that there are veg, vegan and gluten free options. I had a corn fritter thing with avocado salsa on top, which was delicious.

The views are beautiful, even from inside, which is where we sat because it was a very cold and windy day. A log fire creates a comfortable atmosphere. If you have children, this is the place for you, it is very child friendly (but still good for couples, although I wouldn't call it a romantic experience).

I really liked the apple cider too - not too strong and not too sweet.

This bakery is a must-visit on your next trip down south. Arrive between 5 pm and 5:30 pm (but not on Mondays, they are closed then) for bread straight out of the woodfired oven (yes, they cook their bread in the afternoon!)

The sourdough is by far the best bread there, and it's one of the best sourdoughs I've ever had. They also have a sourdough fruit loaf which is filled with raisins and figs, as well as rye and wheat loaves, which I haven't tried.

This review is for Must Winebar, Highgate WA

My husband took me here for our anniversary and it was fantastic! The atmosphere is romantic but not too quiet or boring. I had the crab pasta which was amazing, and a berry dessert which was packed with flavour. My husband's wagyu steak was not the quality I would expect for the price, and had a rather boring pepper sauce (just not what I'd expect for this type of restaurant), but it was still yummy. The wine list is expensive but still contains affordable wines by the glass for those of us not prepared to spend $100 on a bottle. I'd definitely recommend Must Winebar for a special night out for a couple or group.

This review is for Minu Threading, Innaloo WA

verified email - 14 Jul 2014

I highly recommend this place and have been a customer for years now. I've been to quite a few threading specialists and Minu's threading is by far the best in quality, service and best of all, price! Eyebrow and lip threading together costs just $22 - that's around the same price as just eyebrow threading at many other places. The wait is always less than 20 minutes in my experience, even on Thursday evenings and Saturdays.
