Pleasantly surprised with the food quality over a lunch meeting.
Ordered a beef salad, which was exactly as I had asked for - medium rare.
The coffee was passable.
Prices are extremely reasonable & they do good deals for brekkie & lunch.

The staff is attentive & friendly.
The menu is extensive & caters to different tastes & price points. I tend to stick with their salads - they are huge, yummy & good value.

Used to be a Chimmys regular, now I drop in occasionally.
The quality & consistency of the food not as good as it used to be, the coffee can be variable. They have also deleted a lot of favourites from their menu (their ham/cheese tomato for instance)
However, it still has a lovely feel to it with the wooden benches.

The only reason I don't go often enough, is my waistline.
I love the toast topped with mushrooms, rocket & manouri cheese. Had to go looking for manouri cheese in greek delis after having it here!!
Love the baklava french toast, definitely an occasional treat, though.
Like tthe touch of feta in the scrambled eggs.
With summer coming, there is nothing I like better than sitting out in the little courtyard with a coffee & newspaper, and the anticipation of a delicious brekkie.

Love this place, always go there when I want to treat myself.
I always start with my favourite - the grilled cheesy toast with the eggplant kasundi. I've noticed a few cafes have begun to offer something similar !
Love that the service here is attentive, even though it can get crazy over the weekend.

Since discovering Cannings, I've been a convert to the whole grass-fed, organic proposition - not just for health or ethical reasons, but because there is such a huge difference in taste. I always thought my skills fell slightly short of producing that perfect hatted restaurant quality steak - however since Cannings, I've realised its not my skills, but the quality of produce which made the difference.
I also love how responsive Sam is to his customers, with feedback & his promotion offers. The latest package offer was brilliant & such great value. My freezer is bursting. Thanks Sam!
Cannings isn't the cheapest, but with such great taste, I'd rather eat out less, and eat in more.
I've been telling all my friends to shop here!!

Echoing reviews on other review sites on overcharging & poor service...don't go here unless you LIKE being overcharged.
They quoted me a total of $65 for a basic maintenance haircut(a plain bob with a fringe), I reconfirmed price(was happy with the price & the haircut at the price), however, once I got my credit card receipt, they had not deducted the $50 Spreets voucher from it, making it a $115 haircut...in excess of market pricing by about $25 & PRICED WELL ABOVE THEIR OWN PUBLISHED PRICE LIST.
The owner, promised to resolve & call me back....2 weeks ago....still waiting....
Oh yes, also means poor customer service...
