Amazing little japanese place, offering great value meals. Lunch meals are approx $10 - the bento boxes are a beautifully designed combination of tastes & flavours - with your main, you get salad, rice, miso , 3 little tasters (a crisp fried tofu cube, a sesame rolled rice ball & a bean sprout salad). All this in an atmosphere which is a cut above your standard cheap meal with great service.

Approximate cost: $10 for lunch; approx $25 per head for dinner

Great little cafe. The menu is good, and the dessert board is tempting. Food is generally great, although I've had the occasional bad dish ( a paella with really dry chicken)

Great place if you are hankering for a bit of an 'Indian' fix.
I find the food consistent, good tasting, but not extraordinary. However, being of Indian heritage, I'm extra picky when it comes to Indian.
Suffice to say, I'm happy with getting my fix at CCC from time to time.
They do a good lunch special, and their takeaway deals are good value

Like the food here, however, dont go very often unless I'm catching up with a friend on Swan street.
The reason being that although I like the food, I'm not a fan of the coffee. Its not the way its made, its more the brand of coffee used. I dont care for the taste.

I've been here about 3 times. however, I'm not rushing to go back.
Its not the food, thats well thought out, well executed.
I just find this place a bit cold & lacking in any welcoming vibe. Its reflected in the decor & in the wait staff. Whilst they are professional, they are not particularly welcoming, hence, a big reason why I'm not rushing back.

This review is for Olmecs Bakery Bar Cafe, Richmond VIC

My favourite times at Olmecs are going there after dinner for a tea or hot chocolate (they do a wicked chilli chocolate) & dessert (love their sticky date pudding). In winter, its great to sit in front of the fire.
However, service & food at Olmecs can be variable.
I bought a Spreets voucher- whilst I had no issues with service, the meal took about 45 minutes to appear.
THe parma night was good, the paella night was so-so.
Overall, Olmecs is a good local, but could do something to improve its consistency of offer.

This is a good place for a quick bite, and the menu is extensive - pizza/pasta/salads/specials/desserts. I generally stick to the salads list which is extensive & good value.
Service is quick & friendly.
I like the large light-filled dining space, with the laid back leather couches, if you just want a drink.
Although, I havent been, the $10 mondays parma nights, I've heard, are great.

Little disappointed with my last experience here. Ordered the toast with spreads, and as I was sharing with a friend asked for one piece of sourdough toast & one piece of gluten free toast. As they had a $2 extra charge for gluten free, I correctly gave the girl at the register $1 more. However, she wanted to charge me the full $2? She finally agreed, but gave my friend the SMALLEST piece of sourdough toast I have ever seen (the little end slice). Will not be eating here again. I do not appreciate this kind of passive-aggressive & petty customer service.

Love their unique twist on breakfast. I've never had a breakfast quesadilla before.
There is a bit of a wait, and service can take a while (they don't seem to have a large kitchen), so its the place to go if you want a leisurely breakfast.
The fact that its off the beaten cafe track, does not seem to effect its popularity.

Love this place as much as I love its sister cafe , Porgy & Mrs Jones.
The coffee is outstanding.
My favourite - the ham / cheese / tomato croissant, and their avocado/fetta on toast.
The staff are fantastic.
