I made a purchase on Ebay on Monday 15/6 and received delivery via Toll Priority Economy Express on Thursday 18/6.
At all stages I was informed of progress by text messages from Toll (with a link to their website to view tracking).
Just before delivery, I received a phone call from the driver to inform me he was nearby so I could look out for him (and not get the dreaded "sorry we missed you" card). Great service, thanks.

Mohammed at Bankstown went out of his way to fix an issue with on online click and collect purchase I made from Dick Smith's ebay store, his service was exemplary.

He persisted to sort out the problem where others wouldn't have bothered and his efforts resulted in me making an alternate purchase in store (instead of just getting a refund).

Earlier this year from the same store I purchased a Netgear wifi booster and a Canon printer. Mirvat looked after me on that occasion and she is another very helpful and friendly staff member.

I had a great shopping experience at the Bankstown store. Thanks Mohammed and Mirvat :)

Top rate service. This might be an outlet store, but Melissa's professional, helpful and friendly attitude could teach some higher end retail assistants a lesson. She anticipated what a customer might like (before I thought of it myself!) for example offered to get new stock from storage, fetched bags from out of reach displays when she saw another colour or style to consider. Nothing was any trouble for her.
Consequently I happily bought a two beautiful leather handbags and a wallet. The quality and range at Fossil is excellent. Highly recommended.

Although I've been happy with my online appliance purchases, I wanted to try buying local again. I'm so glad I did. Our AEG washing machine was on its last legs (only 8-9 years old which was a bit disappointing) so we decided to start shopping.
Barbara at E&S was knowledgeable and friendly and happy to compete with online pricing (unlike previous attempts at other appliance retailers in Geelong who will match price but begrudgingly). We placed an order for a new machine which was on back order.
Fast forward to the next day, (Sunday) and our old machine died with a bang. We contacted E&S and Peter came to our rescue. He helped us to choose another washing machine which was in stock and between Peter and the very helpful girl (Carly?) who processed our payment, arranged for next day delivery.
Colin rang to confirm delivery time, installed our new machine which is great and removed the old one very efficiently.
E&S ask that if there are any problems to contact them. Hopefully there won't be, but good to know they care about after sales service too.
To order a new washing machine on a Sunday afternoon and receive the replacement shipped from Melbourne to Geelong the next day was brilliant service. Thanks E&S we appreciate this outstanding level of service and you've won our business from the online retailers.

My elderly mother needed an eye test. Mark the optometrist fitted us in at short notice and treated mum with respect and kindness. He checked her previous records and explained everything thoroughly . Denise patiently helped mum with her choice of glasses and even recommended some restaurants for us (we don't live locally).
Denise delivered mum's new glasses to her at her nursing home in Mornington today and rang me to arrange follow up and make sure mum is happy. Some other major optometrists might charge less for their glasses packages but we were happy to pay a bit extra for this level of service, care and professionalism.
Outstanding service, greatly appreciated thanks . Highly recommended!

Appliances Online is a business that does what it promises - they provide a good range of products with great service at a competitive price. Well done!

Everything went so smooothly and efficiently from my email query prior to purchase, through to the phone call received to advise us of delivery time on the appointed day and then the truck arriving on time. The driver and helper were efficient - delivery and removal of our dead appliance was achieved very speedily.

I would definitely recommend this business and happily buy from them again.

The shop is usually quite busy on weekends and as staffing coverage isn't great, I feel for them trying to provide a reasonable standard of service.

The salespeople I've encountered (when buying a watch and then returning it for warranty service when it stopped working) varied from very helpful, to tired and over it - but trying not to show it. And when my watch came back from repair earlier than estimated the staff member seemed surprised as though that never happened.

Overall I would only shop here if what I wanted was on sale as the wait is usually very long and the service inconsistent. I guess it's an example of you get what you pay for.

This review is for La Madre Bakery, Bell Park VIC

verified email - 05 Dec 2012

La Madre make the best seeded sourdough I've ever eaten...(and I've tried quite a few). It is by far my favourite bread - crunchy crust, lots of seeds on top and throughout and that wonderful sourdough tang and density.

Buying directly from the bakery in Bell Park makes for major temptation - last visit we bought 4 loaves of different breads plus cake. Such a great range from which to choose! The other benefit of buying from the shop is getting the bread sliced, (which makes for easy freezing when you've bought 4 loaves!) Service is friendly and helpful and the bakers give you a wave from their clean and bright work area, humming with activity.
I'm happy to pay more for this top quality bread. It's in a different league to supermarket or other bread shop products. Glad that it's also available at other shops in the region too in case I'm not in the Bell Park area. Highly recommended.

This review is for Shoya Melbourne, Melbourne VIC

There are several different seating areas at Shoya, most of which were full at Friday lunch time. Luckily as we hadn't booked, there was room at the Sushi Bar.We enjoyed sitting there and watching all the elements come together at the hands of the master.

We ordered the Business Lunch Set ($65) and the Matsu Set ($38). It was good to compare the two and there were some special extras such as the frozen sphere and gold leaf, but next time we'd order two Matsu. The ingredients were top quality and flavours were superb.

Overall, excellent, unobtrusive service and delicious food. Not your average sushi bar that's for sure!

This review is for Cafe Boonchoo, Bell Post Hill VIC

verified email - 29 Nov 2012

We went to Café Boonchoo for dinner to use our Scoopon vouchers for Pad Thai. If you're not a local, you wouldn't know this shopping strip existed, as it's off the main roads. The décor is eclectic, clean and tidy.

We were seated by a staff member who when we enquired about the response to the Scoopon deal, was not very positive (too cheap, one off customers). Although his negativity was a bit off-putting, we hoped his attitude wasn't shared in the kitchen.

Our expectations weren't too high after the initial front of house vibe, but I'm happy to say that the food was excellent. We felt a bit guilty about just having the Pad Thai, so although we weren't hugely hungry we ordered the mixed entrée as well. The spring rolls were the among the best I've had. Crisp, not oily with a yummy filling.

The waitress who served us seemed inexperienced but couldn't have been more attentive. Her positive attitude was more of what's needed.

The Pad Thai was the best I've eaten in Geelong. Lately at other restaurants I've found it way too sweet or stingy with the meat, but not here – the perfect balance of salty and sweet. Not oily, lots of chicken with peanuts on the side… (some places serve without, it's just not the same!) The serve was generous and I struggled to finish – although it was only the lunch time sized serve for Scoopons we were told…

We didn't find the atmosphere relaxing with a staff member having loud phone calls in the adjoining area. His voice carried and it wasn't conductive to lingering and ordering dessert.

We noticed they have a breakfast menu also, so we imagined they are experimenting with different things - trying hard to make a go of their café and good on them.

Based on what we tried, we'd like to come back and sample other dishes because the food was great. I think we'll have takeaway though…
