I visit regularly - the experience depends a little on who is behind the counter, but generally I find the staff helpful and friendly. They always get my order spot on (I often mix-and-match). It can be a little crowded at busy times, but the churros are always tasty, and the thick hot chocolate is almost a meal in itself.

We popped in for lunch on a Sunday. While the main cafe looked quiet, the lady behind the counter noticed we were quite short of time and explained that the outdoor garden area was full so there would be a wait for the food. She checked how long it would be (30 mins) and confirmed before taking our order. The vegan veggie burger was amazing - perfect size and just the right combination of salad, burger and tasty bread. The coffee was really good too. Great atmosphere, yummy food, and excellent service. Recommended!

This review is for Casa Del Gelato, Carlton VIC

I was referred here by a friend. The small shopfront is misleading, with a huge range of gelato inside! Almost the whole fruit range (except banana) is dairy free, as is the smaller soy-based range with flavours including chocolate, pistachio, hazelnut and coffee! For those with dairy allergies or intolerances this place is a dream! The servings are generous, and amazing value - four flavours for under $6! Staff are friendly and helpful too :)

This review is for Aspendale Gardens Massage, Aspendale Gardens VIC

I'd been looking for a good massage therapist for a while, but all my friends recommended spas and beauty salons which really aren't my thing. WOMOW to the rescue! At first I thought all the reviews for Adam were too good to be true, but after giving Aspendale Gardens Massage a go I'm convinced! Adam replied to my email promptly and offered a wide range of appointments. I was a little nervous on my first visit but he was very friendly, welcoming and professional. Adam asked me to fill out a registration form, but I didn't need to provide much additional information - his experience led him straight to my problem back and shoulder muscles, which he proceeded to sort out for me (and there were quite a few!). The massage room is nice and warm, with a comfortable table and perfect relaxing music.
Excellent massages at a great price from a friendly, professional masseur - what more could you want? :)

This review is for Hotel Shamrock, Bendigo VIC

I stayed at this beautiful old building last night. While the hotel has quite a history it is in great repair and obviously well cared for (apart from the odd minor chip on the skirting boards). My room appeared to have been recently redecorated and was very comfortable with a beautiful view of the city. The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly, and the location is convenient for shops, restaurants, gardens etc.

This review is for APT Connections Uluru Safari, Hampton VIC

verified email - 30 Jun 2010

We booked our 2-day Uluru tour online through a general travel website. When we called the day before to confirm, APT had no record of our booking. The staff member on their helpline bent over backwards to follow up the missing information and organised for us to do our safari as planned. Ben, our guide picked us up the next day in a very comfortable safari vehicle, and his commentaries were interesting and informative the whole time. The accommodation at the Connections campsite was very comfortable (permanent tents) and the atmosphere was very sociable. We saw some amazing sites, and Ben took the time to make everyone feel special and included. On the way back, I lost my phone, and the APT staff again came to the fore in tracking it down and express posting it back to us. A really fantastic service and an amazing experience we won't forget.

This review is for Ningaloo Safari Tours, Exmouth WA

verified email - 30 Jun 2010

Having wanted to visit Ningaloo Reef for years, I was very excited to book a Ningaloo Safari Tour on my holiday to WA. The staff were very helpful, calling to confirm (as we'd booked well in advance), and Ash, the bus driver was excellent - very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. He was very patient (even with a very annoying passenger on board) and his enthusiasm was infectious. We had an amazing day, from 7:30am until we were dropped off at 6pm seeing everything from the top of Cape Range to the fish swimming the coral at Turquoise Bay. I highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Exmouth!

Finally Australia has its own answer to Amazon.com! It was easy to buy books online from fishpond.com.au. They kept me updated on my order, and my books arrived well-packaged and on time.

The best falafels anywhere ever! Fresh bread, good quality falafels that aren't dry and hard, lots of salads, tasty humous and good service too. They also offer kebabs and chips (we've never tried either, but the chips certainly seem to be popular!).

We pre-booked tickets for La Premier. We arrived 10 minutes before the film to collect them from the La Premier queue but didn't get them until 5 minutes after the film had started. When we got to the lounge we had to wait for the bar staff to check the tickets, then go back and wait again to get cups for the drink bar. By the time we got to our seats (in the dark and not an usher in sight) the movie had started.
The lights in the seats were very bright, and staff were coming and going throughout the movie delivering food.
We used to love La Premier for special occasions or long movies, but after that experience (they are now sponsored by Vodafone - not sure if the change in service levels ties in with that) we're not likely to return.
