We called John (having used his services very satisfactorily in 2011) last week because some lights and appliances in the house have been flickering or turning themselves off randomly for very short periods every few days…a most annoying and baffling situation. John did all he could to trace the source, including checking the power switchboard and adjusted what he could within the house.

He and we can't yet be sure the problem is fixed but if it occurs again this will indicate the origin lies outside our property and the power company will need to deal with it. John has offered to speak with them if necessary.

He was so interested in the outcome that he has asked us to inform what happens even if the lights no longer flicker!

While making his call we asked him to replace a broken light switch in the kitchen and to install a new light outside the front door.
He did these tasks with his customary good humour and helpfulness.

We needed a plumber in a hurry for what was a worrying situation.

We contacted John via a WOMOW listing a couple of weeks ago because we'd bought a large secondhand fridge/freezer that kept tripping the safety switch when turned on. Over the phone he showed real interest in our dilemma and gave calm and helpful advice that resolved the problem.

We subequently asked John to visit to carry out a couple of small domestic jobs: install a new double wall plug and replace a broken one. At this visit we consulted him about a more major issue, relating to our point of attachment (i.e. where the main cable from the electricity pole joins the house). We had previously received various tradesmen's conflicting opinions over what to do plus exhorbitant quotes.

John sized up the problem immediately, devised a solution and offered to undertake the point of attachment task that day for a very reasonable amount. His charge for installing the wall plugs was similarly reasonable.

We really pleased with John's efficiency, expertise and prices. He turned up when he said he would, and is nice bloke as well!

We won't hesitate to use his services again.
