This review is for Cockadoodle Cafe & Espresso Bar, Red Hill QLD

I saw Cockadoodle Cafe & Espresso Bar on "The Great South East" and decided to try it out since it is in a nearby suburb to where I live. I don't know how it has stayed hidden for so long! My husband and I were nicely surprised by the quality of the food. We chose from the all day breakfast menu, picking the Veggie Big Breakfast (poached eggs, grilled tomato, baby spinach, mushrooms, house beans & sourdough bread, with added haloumi). It was really delicious; the sourdough was crunchy and drizzled with a little olive oil and the house beans were lovely in a rich and flavoursome tomato sauce. Everything was perfectly cooked; beautifully hot and fresh, and the serving was generous, looking great on the large rectangular plate. Loved the coffee too, and the service was friendly and welcoming. The only drawback might be the limited seating. We were first directed to a small table on a platform at the top of the stairs but it was a bit breezy. We then moved outside, and while we didn't mind being near a busy intersection, others may prefer a quiet spot inside. We will definitely be going back though, and will be taking some friends along with us next time.

Approximate cost: $15

If you are feeling pretty relaxed, and just want to head out for a coffee with a friend then try Qwerk Espresso. It lives up to its name - a picture of the Mona Lisa has a mostache, a chai latte written on the menu board as being $1,000,000 and odds bits and pieces of antique ornaments and furniture. While the seating isn't the most comfy, you'll find the staff to be very warm and the coffee & food to be very tasty. I loved the corned beef, sweet potato, spinach leaf & caramelised onion toastie - the flavours really sang and the turkish bread was toasted to perfection. I'm looking forward to trying their new vegetarian toastie next time.

Approximate cost: $10-15

This review is for D'lish Fish And Chippery, Wilston QLD

The fish, salad & chip meals are always fresh and generous in size, and I haven't found any other fish & chip place to match it. I also like that you can choose from a variety of dressings on the fish, such as pesto crust, lemongrass & chilli or ginger & shallots. It's a little more expensive, but highly recommended!!
