When I went here it was because I had a voucher for a cut, colour, some highlights and a blow wave for $150. Unfortunately they didn't match my regrowth to my hair colour, so it looked pretty tacky. It wasn't a hard job so I was pretty disappointed that they didn't do a really good job. I felt that I could have done it better myself so I haven't been back since.

I've been to The Retreat a few time, mostly in the afternoons before it gets packed. But I've walked past it at night and the line has been around the corner! Its a great spot for an afternoon drink especially in summer as it has a large beer garden with astro-turf so you can have a little picnic!

The food was beautiful, but our waiter seemed a bit disinterested in serving us. I asked for a recommendation for a white wine to drink with my steak (I hate white wine and usually drink beer but we were celebrating our engagement and wanted something special) and he kind of chuckled at me and was a bit condescending.
Can't fault the food tho, really yummy.

I had the best time here! the most entertaining dinner I've ever been out for!!

Our chef was great fun, throwing omlet to try and catch in our mouths, and throwing bowls full of rice at us to stack up (I caught all of mine!)

Not cheap (our set menu was $65 per head) but definitely a fun night out!

Another great asian restaurant on Racecourse Rd!
I don't like it as much as Laksa King or Chop Chop, but you can always get a table and the food is pretty good.
Good value for money.

Chop Chop has the best dim sims!!!!
its a good alternative to Laksa King (just across the allewyway) because you can always get a seat and be served quickly.

Been going to Laksa King for a few years and its a great value restaurant...if you can get a seat! its always packed, even on weeknights, its not too bad if there's just two of you, but can be hard for a big group to get a table. The best thing to do is call up and order takeaway, then just go pick it up :)
