This internet site is one of my favourite for cosmetics. They have great deals and their shipping rate is reasonable. If you subscribe to their emails you can get $1 deals for various items which can include Revlon or Allmay amongst others (max purchase of 2) and if you like it on social media at the time of purchasing they will usually include an extra item such as a make up brush or eyeliner. There are usually other specials on the site where you can purchase $200 worth of brand name make up for say $50 but there may be only three or four colour options to choose from. I recently ordered an item that was out of stock and was contacted by their customer service department within days who offered me a refund or credit note. Dealing with this internet based business is delightful. Their packages always arrive within a reasonable time and I often stock up on mascara, eyeliner and nailpolish to add to gifts

This review is for Aus Vi Bakery, Rosanna VIC

This little bakery in the Rosanna shopping strip is my go to place for crusty fresh bread when I am in the area. They also do some of the best Vietnamese Rice Paper rolls I have tasted in a long time. The Pasta Dura rolls are massive (1 feeds two people) and cost around 90C each and are crusty on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. They do my fresh rolls as well as having an array of cakes and coffee available. There are a few table and chairs for those wanting to have a bite to eat inside as well as a wall of jewellery and bowls from Vietnam and some lovely handmade cards for sale as well. The staff are friendly and service is good.

Approximate cost: $90C for pasta dura rolls

If there was a zero star for service this company would get it!! I purchased some canisters for a Christmas gift in early November allowing plenty of time for delivery. By early December two out of the three I ordered arrived. I emailed customer support waited three to five days and then rang them on their on 1300 number. After being on hold and listening to the same french songs about four times I was told it would be delivered in time for Christmas. Several more phone conversations and emails later the final canister did not arrive. Fast forward to early January and I was finally advised (after 4 more telephone calls and being on hold for over 20 minutes at a time) that the product was no longer available and it was a warehouse issue. Needless to say I had to purchase another Christmas present for the intended recipient. At the time of writing this I have phoned and emailed several more times to try and resolve the issue. The products that did arrive are fine - their communication and customer support is appalling and i am just days away for referring this to consumer affairs. Save the headache and try Peter's of Kennsington instead!!

This review is for Nam Loong Restaurant, Melbourne VIC

stumbled across this gem on New Years Eve when my usual cheap and cheerful destination was closed for the the holidays. Don't confuse this with the more upmarket Nam Loong Seafood restaurant which is a block away and has tablecloths. This place is tiny, cramped and nothing fancy but very busy and very good. The service is incredibly quick and the food is good but a little inconsistent. We had three main meals and it totalled $34.00 and they provide you with free tea. They have a huge variety of steamed buns which we will try next time. It's not the sort of restaurant you would linger in and they have a quick turnaroud of patrons. The tofu and vegetable stir-fry was one of the best I have had in a long time.

Approximate cost: $8-14

This is a great place to take tourists. Upon entering a non-descript office building in Bourke Street you have no idea what awaits on the 3rd floor. The lift doors open to fake grass and flowers and looks like a 1930's tennis club with lots of white wrought iron and cane furniture and drink staff in tennis whites. The indoor area also opens up to an outdoor rooftop bar. The prices are a little on the expensive side however, the experience is priceless. You can just picture well dress ladies eating cucumber sandwiches and sipping their Pimms. It is a very popular place so does get very crowded and noisy and finding a seat can sometimes be a challenge.

A very intimate little club which takes it music seriously. It has a sign up that advises that it is a listening venue - so if you want to sit back and relax with a glass or wine or two it is the place for you. If you are in a loud group and want to have a chat - consider going elsewhere. It is a very intimate venue with lots of tables and chairs. The downside - it is small and books out quickly so not so good for those spur of the moment evenings. Bar prices are reasonable and cover charge changes depending on the act.

This review is for Liberty Meats, Preston VIC

My sister-in-law recommended Liberty Meats after being enticed by an ad in the local paper - now the whole family shop there. Full Cyrovac eye fillet is around $22 a kilo - when you could be paying up to $33 in the supermarket and is very tender - perfect when entertaining. The lamb backstraps are tender and lean. They also have mince and a few frozen goods such as frozen fish, chicken snitzel and dim sims. They have just started stocking chicken fillets and some deli meats. If you spend over $100 they also give you a dozen eggs free. Adjoining Liberty Meats is a fruit and veg area. The fruit and veg are very reasonably priced, however you need to be a bit choosey if you plan on not eating them within a day or two. They also have some continental items such as very reasonably priced pasta, pasatta, olives and bread and some dips, jams and olives. There is plenty of parking on site and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

This review is for Grand Noodle, Camberwell VIC

This is my local noodle box and the service is fast. The noodles are tasty and there is a lot of variety on offer. If you don't like a certain addition (eg seafood) they will happily accommodate any changes. There are a few benches to sit at but it is mainly for takeaway patrons. If you do choose to sit in it can be a little noisy.

Approximate cost: $10

For a cheap and cheerful fill of pasta or pizza this is the place to go. Unless you are feeding a small army I recommend the entree size for the pasta as the servings are ridiculously big. It can also get a bit noisy in there so if you are after an intimate dinner this is not the place for you. Otherwise for good cheap mum and dad type fare this is the place for you. Also if you order a gelati - order one and ask for extra spoons they are mammoth!!

Approximate cost: $15-20

I love this place!! It's a treasure trove crammed full of used CDs DVDs and Vinyl Records. You may not always find what you are specifically after as it is a second hand store after all. The music is divided into genres which does help a little. The prices are reasonable and the discs are always in good condition. They also purchase from you and you can do a deal where you can take the cash or put it towards something else in the store - oh and the bargain bins are a fun time waster.

Approximate cost: $5-$10
