We were recommended Neil's work when our mahogany furniture was damaged in a recent move. His work is excellent, he is an expert when it comes to quality wood furniture. Unfortunately he is in high demand & it can take months for him to get projects finished because he's constantly taking on more.
We have stayed here a few times as there's not much choice in Kilmore. The 3 star rooms house tradesmen most of the time, who sit out the front of the rooms & are loud & boistrous. They are also noisy when they all leave for work at 5.30 in the morning!! The rooms are dated but cosy, & the spa rooms are lovely. I recommend paying a bit extra & staying in a spa room because there is a significant different in the rooms & they are further up the hill, away from the main road & the tradesmen. It makes a huge difference to your stay.
Tynte Flowers are always fresh, & they have bunches of flowers for $15, which is an absolute bargain. It makes sending flowers affordable & easy. And you can trust that they will deliver on time & of course, on budget. And there's plenty of options if its a special occasion & you want to spend a bit more - they have really nice food hampers & pot plants.
I contacted Monograms to do some printing for me on some slippery paper & they did a fantastic job. Their print quality is top notch & they are very affordable & helpful. I also had them design an embossing logo for me which I had made into a stamp. I was very happy with their services, & they have a great range of products & stationery in their store.
I called Bridal Elegance after being recommended to them by another dressmaker who was booked out. They were immediately welcoming, professional & accommodating. I had two weeks to design & make up my bridesmaid dress, & only had a vague idea of what I wanted. They designed the dress from scratch for me, just going on my body shape & best features, & after sketching it, they made up a pattern to my measurements. From start to finish, it took them two weeks & the result was stunning! I was thrilled with their work, & you couldn't tell that they'd had to do it quickly. These ladies are truly talented, & they know what they're doing.
We booked Barry as our marriage celebrant. He was professional, compassionate & organised. He had a wealth of experience & helped us through the process, helping us with our vows & personalised the entire service for us & taking the time to get to know us & our story. We were thrilled with his work, & on the day, he really helped us both to be calm & enjoy the experience. We especially loved how he involved our guests in the ceremony. When we arrived back from our honeymoon, he had sent us a package with all our documents & some helpful hints on what to do after your married (ie changing names etc). It was a nice touch.
We decided to be controversial & have a 3 tiered chocolate fondue instead of a cake. It was way more cost effective than a wedding cake & the guests loved it! It was a real social centrepiece. The chocolate was such good quality, & there was plenty for everyone - even with a few guys putting cups under!! Funky Fondue staff did all the work, both set it up & took it down at the end of the reception & they even gave us all of the left over chocolate when they were done - we had 5 litres left over in tubs!!!! YUM! The best money we spent on our wedding. It was the gift that kept giving!
We had ice sculptures carve us a beautiful ice swan feature for our wedding reception, as it was a crystal theme. It was absolutely stunning, & was what all of the guests commented on as really making the room look special. They are expensive but for the workmanship that goes into it, I feel it's justified.
We had our wedding invites printed & made up by Giftables. They were professional & their labour costs were fairly cheap for making the invites up. The printing was a little more pricey, as was the stationery (the card & paper & diamontes) but the end result was beautiful. It would have taken me weeks to make them all by hand myself! Also I recommend any brides/ grooms to be to head down there & look through their stationery portfolios - there are so many good ideas in there, & it really helps you get an idea of what yours will look like.
I had my dress custom made through Jenny & Gerry's, which I was able to tweak to be the ultimate dress. They were so supportive & complimentary & their customer service was delightful. They are with you every step of the way, & aren't affraid to give you their truthful opinions if you ask for them. I chose an expensive dress, but they have such a good range that no matter what you budget is, they've got something for you.
