This review is for Talay Thai, Ascot QLD

Talay Thai has some great tasting Thai food. The restaurant is up at the racecourse end of racecourse road so is very convenient. The dining area is lovely and there is a great little deck area.

It is BYO wine and they also have takeaway but we have only ever eaten in. It isn't the cheapest Thai restaurant around, but it is yummy. Recommend the Pad Thai!

Vageli's is fantastic! I've eaten here many times for lunch and the food is delicious. The pasta is fantastic, but what keeps me coming back is the salads. The Warm Lamb and Octopus salads are fantastic. They are massive serves also and probably the best salads in Brisbane.

The service has always been fantastic and the restaurant has a great atmosphere which looks out over racecourse road.

We have been here many times. Pizza is fantastic, as are the pastas. The service is good and it is a cute place to eat in. It isn't the cheapest pizza place around, but it is good quality.

Tomato Brothers at Wilston provides some excellent italian food. We ate in most recently and really enjoyed the experience. There was a group of 10 adults plus about 8 kids and they were very accommodating to the children. The pasta and pizza are great and resonably priced. A good casual night out.

They do BYO and takeaway! Fantastic!

This review is for Mado Cafe & Restaurant, Highgate Hill QLD

I went to Mado for the second time on Saturday night. There was a group of 6 of us and the service is fantastic. They are BYO ($10 corkage per bottle is quoted on their menu).

We were celebrating a friend's birthday and they just happened to hear us doing a toast and come and asked. The next thing we knew there was a mini cake and candles coming out - fantastic! Then the belly dancer come and she encouraged us to get up and dance with her! Fun Fun!

The food was delicious. We had dips and turkish bread to start. Then we ordered haloumi. For mains we ordered some grilled chicken, grilled lamb with eggplant and a Pide which was plenty for us ( we weren't overly hungry). They were big serves and were very tasty. Afterwards we retired to have a traditional Sheesha pipe! Which was a bit more expensive than overseas, but all a bit of fun. We'll be back. I must say we went about two years previously and didn't have a good experience that time (but we showed up as the kitchen was closing) however someone in our group mentioned it was good, so we tried again and are thankful that we did!

This review is for Lock N Load Bistro, West End QLD

I went to lock n load yesterday for the first time for brunch. The breakfast menu is extensive and is relatively well priced. The food was excellent. The service was a little slow, but it was extremely busy at 10.30 on a Sunday. The waitress kindly mentioned as we were leaving that we should book the day before and we would be able to get a great table in the courtyard. This place has a fantastic ambiance and great food, I'll be back for sure! It's very West End!

I went to the pink piano for the first time last week. It is a great little bar with a small dining room.

The lunch specials are $14 and I had a very tasty chicken burger. It was great value.

Highly recommended

This restaurant is owned by a lovely couple. An Australian man and his Thai wife. They are always so friendly.

They serve really great Thai food and there is a great ambiance in the little restaurant. The pumpkin curry is my favorite - superb!

The restaurant is byo and they cook up some fantastic food! One of our regulars!

This review is for The Purple Olive, Fortitude Valley QLD

We love The Purple Olive. It is delicious food cooked well, but it is the service that is really fantastic here! While it is a relatively casual restaurant, the service is 5 star / fine dining quality. The waiters are always attentive. I believe they're training of wait staff is first class. We had a waiter one night that had a trainee with them all night, but following and observing before being allowed to serve on their own.

In my opinion, the baby octopus entree is the best baby octopus I have ever had, unfortunately last time we were there, it had been taken off the menu! ALAS! We'll be taking a look at the menu before we go next time to check it is back on!
