The biggest menu I have seen - there is something for everyone here.

Simple, honest food so don't expect all the bells and whistles expected from the business name. One would expect the Hainanese Chicken Rice to be awesome here but it isn't so. So I don't recommend this.

The Lobak is good as well as the Penang Char Kuey Teow.

Prices are cheap here and so is the decor but I usually get take-away.

Recommended for a cheap night in take-away food.

Approximate cost: $12

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Melbourne. Not a cheap eat but not Flower Drum prices either! Service is more upmarket and staff are courteous and well trained (unlike the general Chinese restaurant staff).

Favourites are Minister Chicken ribs (the sauce is amazing) and Onion pancake (perfect texture and tasty).

It's always a good sign when you see plenty of Chinese looking customers dining here.

Highly recommended!

Amazing food and wine - this is a really special place. They feature an awesome tapas menu and the food was simple but flavours so clean and delicious. More people need to know about this Melbourne gem.

Wine selection is a big list. Service was wonderful with a great attitude.

Will definitely be back! Highly recommended

Great markets for foodies and the quality is fresher, cheaper and better than the supermarket fruit and vege produce. If you shop around, you will notice there are suppliers that sell cheaper and lower quality produce consistently and vice versa.

I always talk to the sellers to get tips on how best to cook a seasonal item.

All the meats, fish and poultry are the same. Sometimes the prices are similar to that of the supermarkets but I am pretty sure it is fresher, no preservatives and very high turnover of stock.

Eggs aplently and so many cheeses, tofus, beers, wines, dried fruits and nuts, legumes, artisan breads, pastries and deli's to choose from.

Bring your own carry bag or baskets. And come for lunch and snack on $2.50 boreks, bratwurst rolls, pies, chicken ribs, salads including pizzas on various but cool bases like beetroot, polenta etc.

There are also some nick-nacks and cheap souvenirs.

Remember to come in Summer for the Suzuki Night Markets with an endless choice of international cuisine with free entertainment and artisan stalls.

Depending on who cuts your hair, it can be a great or ok cut.
Generally open till late and on public holidays (from what I have seen so far). Good for a value cut but then again there are plenty on the next block across the road on Elizabeth Street.
Come here if you want a cheap hair cut... Preferably a trim... Don't over complicate things as their English is not the best.

Fantastic tapas with a Middle Eastern / African influence. Have used spices really well throughout the food and drink menus. Service was also good and tends to fill up quickly.
Highly recommended - also have options for vegetarians and gluten-free.

Love this little Japanese restaurant in the cute suburb of Northcote. A cute fit-out and tasty food and drinks. The staff were friendly and food came out promptly. Gets a bit busy during the weekend dinner time but love devouring the little works of art on our plates! A cosy, intimate food gallery!

Yum yum!

Recommended - great for dates or catchups with friends.

I think this cafe needs to pick up it's game.

A great little name for a cafe but that's the end of all the positives. I had the Japanese seafood pancake covered in Japanese Mayo and the traditional brown sauce. The pancake tasted floury and possibly undercooked. Coffee was pretty bad.

A place that has potential but has got to do better to keep their customers. Service was hit and miss. Some are very attentive but others are still half asleep. Needs a freshen up.

Won't be back unless I hear they improve.

Delicious crunchy coffee flavoured baked-on topping on a soft and delicious buttery bun! It's a shame there are no lines out the door. Always a great brekkie / snack on the go with a greatly brewed coffee.

It's a small and narrow little shop and resembles a fish and chip shop but everyone that likes coffee must come here to try out the Papparoti buns. The topping is like a cookie crust with the perfect amount of crunch and aroma of coffee and cookies.

Internationally acclaimed, tastes fabulous and cheap (less than a cup of coffee)!

This shop also has an internet cafe attached (interesting combination) but highly recommended!!

I have been here a few times when I am in the area and I have managed to pick up a few bargain homeware items. Sometimes they have great sales on the furniture. Love the cool chairs for sale! Staff are friendly and happy to leave you alone to wander. Good place to pick up nick-nacks and gifts for housewarmings and weddings.
