Karen, the owner, has been doing nails for many years--I can't remember how many she said, but well over 10 years. If you're looking for acrylic, you're looking in the wrong place. She only deals with Bio-Sculpture gels which I love.

I found her initially by asking the bio-sculpture gel distributors for a list of salons that used their gels after moving to a new area. I finally rang Karen up and have been very happy with her quality and service.

Bio-sculpture gels are a bit more expensive, but they are really worth the extra cost.

If you want healthy nails with beautiful colours and great service, give her a call! I'm very happy to recommend her.

This review is for Via Sorrento, Sorrento VIC

verified email - 23 Nov 2009

We drove to Sorrento when my parents were here from out of town to show them the Mornington Peninsula. When we got to Sorrento, we were worried because most restaurants close early in smaller towns and it was nearly 4pm. Thankfully via Sorrento was open. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time, but the employee who waited on us was very personable. I was the only one of us to have "the Best Pizza in Town" as they bill it. And I have to say, it was excellent. The others in my party had salads, which they all thoroughly enjoyed.

This review is for Red Pepper Indian Restaurant, Melbourne VIC

Until about a year about I taught English to Indian students. Every time I asked them where I could get good Indian food, they always replied Red Pepper. I can now see why! I've been here a few times and have always loved the food. My favorite is the butter chicken as well as the lassie. Again, the best places for ethnic food is always where you find people of that culture eating.

This is a fantastic place to go for Indian for lunch. The curries are fantastic, and the service is quite good considering how crazy it gets during lunch. We were very lucky to get a place to sit! What I like the most about this place is the fact that a good portion of the customers were actually Indian. I think that says a bit about the authenticity.

We recently went here with our mom's group. The place looks great, and it is quite spacey, enough space for all the prams! I had their lamb wrap which was actually quite good, if not a little pricey for lunch. The others found their lunches to be so so.

Approximate cost: $15

This review is for Michelangelo's, Aspendale Gardens VIC

Michelangelo's is just around the corner from us so we go here relatively often. We are members of their new VIP club and look forward to getting the benefits out of being a member ($50 gift voucher I believe). I've tried several items off their menu and to be honest, the only thing I've really enjoyed were their pizzas.

This review is for Nachos Mexican Cantina, Aspendale VIC

verified email - 23 Nov 2009

As an American in Melbourne, I am always on the search for good Mexican food. Don't ask why, but this is one of he first questions we ask other Americans when we arrive!
Well, Nachos is really good, very close to what I'm used to in the Mexican restaurant (in the Mexican areas) in the US. I only wish they had chimichangas on the menu! The only problem is they are only open during the evening.

This review is for Doyles Bridge Hotel, Mordialloc VIC

verified email - 22 Nov 2009

This place is quite busy on warm summer days, and the deck is the best place to be (except for mozzies!). I've also been here with my mom's group during the week in the afternoon and there was plenty of room. However, the toilets are in the basement, so that proved a problem with the prams (impossible). Their greek pizza is fantastic!

This review is for Lindt Chocolate Cafe, Melbourne VIC

We were slightly disappointed. My husband's from Switzerland so we thought it'd be nice to go here. Our problem, a 2 month old baby in a pram. The place is extremely cramped, and we had to carry the pram up 5 steps to get to the main cafe. Then there was a glass panel in the way so I had to ask some customers to move so we could get the pram through. How would a wheelchair bound person cope here? We were even told by one waiter that our pram was in the way. Sorry!
Anyway, we did order their hot chocolate and shared a chocolate waffle. These were absolutely delicious. We also brought home some macaroons (Luxemburgerli at Spruengli in Switzerland) which were delicious.

This review is for Atwood Motor Inn, Warrnambool VIC

verified email - 15 Nov 2009

When we have overseas visitors we like to go along the Great Ocean Road and finish in Warrnambool where we stay overnight. We stayed at the Atwood Motor Inn on one of those occasions, in January, 2009. There were 3 of us (adults) and we took advantage of their family room. This consisted of 2 rooms, 1 with 2 single beds and 1 with a queen bed with microwave and kettle and access to the ensuite. It was a short walk to the CBD and reasonably priced for 3 adults. The only problem we had with the room was the rather 80s decor and it also looked like a previous guest put some holes in the walls and they plastered them up but hadn't painted yet.

Approximate cost: $130 family rooms
