food is really excellent. although your experience (of the food) does depend somewhat on what you select and your expectations.

service is uniformly friendly and very efficient. huge number of wait staff.

river views. try asking for a riverside table.

wine not inexpensive, but not outrageous.

Approximate cost: $25

was introduced to Tukka by special offer fro their degustation menu which was very good but quite expensive normally. but their a la carte menu is very reasonable

food is excellent but service was quite ordinary on last time we went.

interesting eclectic wine list

overall good experience with interesting and flavoursome native tastes

Approximate cost: $30

People on the Penisula may not realise how accessible and good value the Dendy Portside (and the adjacent restaurants) are.

First, access. Go down Gateway, exit at Nundah Rd exit, regardless of what your GPS says, head straight down Nundah Rd, far more relaxing than the Gateway, and it brings you out directly opposite Portside where the Dendy is.

We park on street usually across road rather than drive around in circles in fairly small car park.

All told, only around 30 min trip (from Scarborough.)

Next, join Club Dendy and get adult tickets for any session or day for $10 (less for seniors). And convenient on-line ticket booking.

And of course the Dendy shows generally more interesting movies than the usual rubbish elsewhere. Nice small theatres. Licensed but restricted choice and expensive for what you get. We avoid after 1st try.

Finally after (or before if you must) movie, a nice meal at one of 1/2 dozen restaurants immediately adjacent, or drive upo to near-by Racecourse Rd.

And then a relaxed 30 drive home.

PS i will give away my secret, but don't tell. We find the best experience is go to a less busy (until now) 4-5pm session, come out at 6:30 or 7:00, just in time for a relaxed dinner.

new place on Redcliffe Parade.

very nicely set out and decorated. not quite elegant, but attractive, comfortable and casual.

wait staff are fairly uniformly excellent in attitude and service quality. and management are friendly and approachable.

the food is mod aust, nicely done, fairly but not amazingly innovative. a nice range of dishes in taste and size, although not all fully realised on the plate. and represent good value for what you get.

the lunch menu is different and lighter naturally than the dinner menu, although they share some dishes as you might expect
we have been three times in a short space of time, so they must be doing something right. but without the menu, i can't recall most of the dishes unfortunately, but i have the lunch menu here whiuch has for example a "Seared Scallops, with avocado, tomato & lime crush, roasted peper couli, and petite herbs" @ $19

the wine list is interesting and reasonably priced, and there is BYO @ $10 if you wish.

with Brick & new-look Jetty Cafe & better menu at Scarborough Beach & even the Golden Ox, maybe i can postpone the need to open a smart bistro with good & interesting food on the Penisula ;-)

Approximate cost: $30

i'm with Marget. but the very best thong about here is the RANGE. always have all the hard to get (or never stocked) items, eg fresh tumeric, galangal, celeriac (which is getting a bit easier to find), but heaps and heaps of other things, say jackfruit as wild example :-) - plus all the expected things, and as Marget says, a very dood select of specialist deli items.

used to use Scarb Mechanic all the time before we moved locations so ut wasn't as convenient.

Don does a great job single-handedly, and very reasonable costs.

We think probably not as good as Rods Mechanical, but costs appear more reasonable (hard to be sure withiout comparing apples to apples)

This review is for Rod's Mechanical & Parts, Redcliffe QLD

Rod is great guy and very easy to deal with. Always explains the work in detail. Very happy using them.
PS Rod recently took someone on to do reception to free up his time and Roid is v. happy with result, but don't think if Rod realises that he is really unfriendly and has a bit of an 'attitude', and isn't actually that efficient as he forgot about booking a jobn and finding out about some parts he was meant to. i don't think that customer service is where he should be.

indeed. location is brilliant. but the food is absolute rubbish. and the environment and claustobic tables is so un-relaxing. reminds me of maccas or Sisslers at beach. go somewhere else. anywhere. beautiful location absolutely wasted

Approximate cost: $27
