I have rented through a few agancies in Hobart and I must say that EIS are the most efficient and professional yet! They were much faster than I expected when I asked them to repair a drainpipe - I emailed them in the morning and the repairman arrived the same afternoon. It is always easy to get in contact with someone at the office when you need to, which is a refreshing change. Obviously, as a tenant, I don't know how much they charge for their service, but if I ever bought a rental property, they would be top of my list as managers.
Music Without Frontiers have a huge range of music in all styles. The owner will also order in anything you ask for if he can get it in. The pricing is fair as most CDs are imports. They also have a range of music DVDs which you probably won't find anywhere else in Hobart. The small shop is quite packed with stock and you could lose yourself for hours browsing!
Sfumato hair offer very professional service and the staff are very friendly. They do top notch cuts, styles and colours. They are at the higher end of the price sprectrum, but I think it's worth paying that little bit extra to get the best service. It can be hard sometimes, like just before Christmas, to get an appointment, so book early :)
Annapurna is one of the best places to go if you are looking for a delicious vegetarian meal. The authentic Naan bread is to die for. The service and prices are great and I have never had a less-than-wonderful meal there.
The Island Markets in Moonah offer a great range of fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and seafood. The prices on meat are really cheap. There is also a clothing liquidation hall, where you can pick up some great bargains. If you want fruit and vegies, especially the specials, it is best to go on Thursday or Friday as they can sell out quickly. There is plenty of parking and a variety of stalls and Island Markets are definitely worth checking out.
The Fresh Fruit Market have a great variety of deli items as well as very good quality fruit and vegetables. The have great weekly specials and the everyday prices are usually cheaper than the supermarket. Generally, the queues at the checkout aren't too bad, which is better than the local supermarkets. Parking can be pretty bad on the weekend, so I'd recommend shopping here during the week.
I have been going to this medical centre for a few years now. They do bulk bill which is great! It can be a little bit hard to get an appointment when you want one, but they will try to fit you in if it's urgent. All the doctors are female, I have seen a few of them and I can't fault their professionalism and knowledge.
The Central Bar is a very popular place to meet for a long lunch. The decor is stylish and the space is kept clean and tidy. The meals are great with quite and upmarket menu and daily specials. Drink prices are reasonable and they have a pretty good range.
Admittedly, I was terrified about trying indoor rockclimbing, but the staff made me feel a lot more comfortable about it. They demonstrate how to use all the safety gear and are on hand if you need help. The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed.
Rush do excellent coffee! The food is pretty good too. The most outstanding thing about this cafe is the customer service. It doesn't take long for the staff to know your order before you tell them. They are very friendly and accomodating.
