Really enjoy the Bistro here, it can be a bit noisy, but they have a nice restaurant area that is quieter. Same food in both sides, which has been consistently generous and delicious when we have visitied, highly recommend.

We went here for the vanilla slice that we had heard about and were not disappointed, it is DELICIOUS! It is not the standard vanilla slice that you get at any old bakery, for starters it is HUGE, soft creamy, creamy custard, not all over set like most vanilla slices nowadays, in-between two layers of melt in your mouth flakey pastry, there is also a layer of jam, which just sets it off because the custard and pastry are not over sweet. Yes it costs $7.50, but honestly it is an experience, not just an ordinary vanilla slice. And no, I'm not over exaggerating, It is the sort of food experience that you plan your day trip around!!

Ok, I'm putting it out there, these are the BEST fish and chips I have ever had, ever. There I've said it and perhaps it was just a good night or my taste, but in my mind I'm not exaggerating. I had flake, chips, and potato cakes, succulent fish, crispy batter, crispy chips but soft inside, yummy potato cakes. If you are staying at Venus bay well worth the small drive to get to Tarwin Lower for some fish and chips to eat at the beach.

This is without a doubt one of the best best holiday houses I've ever stayed. We had a big family long weekend here with 8 adults and 3 children all acoomodated very comfortably in The Parkview West house. Parkview west backs straight onto the bush, you can easily walk to a multitude of Grampians walking tracks from here and you are in very close walking distance to all the facilities of Halls Gap. Kangaroos literally(!) come to the doorstep, magic! Organising the stay was a breeze and the heater had been popped on for us prior to our arrival, a welcoming touch. Fully self contained, bedding supplied, there is even a table soccer game to keep the kids (big and small) entertained. Lovely, lovely tranquil place, we definitely want to go back and can't recommend it highly enough. Also we required disabled access for this trip for a walking frame, the place has an accessible ramp and good sized bathroom in main suite suitable for disabled access, excellent facilities suitable for all.

Beautifully appointed bed and breakfast about a block from the beach. We have stayed twice now, once in the Georgia room, and once in their new upstairs suite. The upstairs suite is more expensive but just wonderful, huge king bed, self contained with kitchen facilities, balcony with barbecue and you can just see the ocean over the trees! The hosts really take pride in the presentation o f their rooms and each room has individual decor based on plantation house styling. Highlight of this accommodation is definitely the breakfast, not your standard fry up here! Had some beautiful sautéed asparagus with my scrambled eggs last time and first stay had some magnificent (decedent) french toast! Would definitely stay again, high standard accommodation and service here.

Ok, this is a top notch restaurant that we have been to three times and it has been a little bit variable. On our first visit we had the degustation menu and the service and food was absolutely amazing, first class. On the second occassion service and food also very impressive. On the third occassion the service and food quality seemed to drop off a little, less attentive, forgotten sides and just not quite the amazing food that you expect when paying top dollar. However, we will definitely return, I guess even the best restaurants have off nights!! And an off night at 35 is still 100% on the quality of many other restaurants we've been to. We particularly appreciate that they were very happy to help with our wine selections even though we don't have a clue about wine, we appreciated this.

We had the most fabulous lunch here you could ever imagine! Ploughman's plate, duck, pork and beautiful Soufflé for dessert. We loved being able to see all the action in the kitchen as well as lovely views over the vineyards from our window seat. It was a pretty pricey lunch I'd have to say, so definitely a special occasion, but well worth it for the quality. Service also terrific with friendly, helpful and knowledgable service staff.

Wow, this really is one of the best, we paid approx $170 each for the degustation menu, including the Waygu beef and we were not disappointed with the superb food, friendly attentive service, relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere (you can dress up here) and ultimately, the value for money for such a special dining experience. Highly recommend, particularly for a special occassion.

We love this cafe, such a easy central place to meet, set back in Federation Square you still feel like you are tucked away from the real hustle and bustle and can relax and watch the world go by. Great selection of food, fantastic breakfast. I like their green chicken curry though, modern australian take on one of my favourite dishes and it's delicious. Great range of cakes for dessert!! Coffee is fantastic. Friendly staff. Sensational value for money. Highly recommend.
