This is such a funky little cafe. It is literally a cafe built into an old switchboard. The space is tiny but oh so effective. Staff really get to know their regular customers orders. Great cupcakes and coffee. This place is just cool and a must visit, even if just passing by to have a look-see!

This review is for Casay Bar, Coffs Harbour NSW

This bar is fantastic. Perfectly situated overlooking lush green grass and stunning Diggers beachfront the venue is both modern and comfortable. Happy hour is from 5:30 to 6:30pm and prices then are great. They offer a great casual menu (in peak periods on Fri and Sat), live music in the evening (same days as food is available in bar) and aside from being a popular resort for weddings, it seems never over-crowded to attend. The staff are excellent - polite, attentive. Stephen who we have been served by more than once has a great sense of humour and is a joy to chat with. The bar has a great cocktail selection, good coffee and cake. We couldn't ask for more and it's so close to home! I recommend the chips.

This review is for Pet Porpoise Pool, Coffs Harbour NSW

We had an excellent visit here over the weekend. It's about a half-day event, the venue itself is not overly large but the experience was fantastic. You get free dolphin and seal kisses. They have a dolphin and seal show. If you want to pay the price you can swim with either the dolphins or seals as well. It was a real hands on adventure, everything was up close and personal rather than viewed from afar. The animals seem fine and are obviously cared for, though I can't help but feel a little sad when it seems so un-natural for seals to live on concrete and in such seemingly small pool enclosures. I would definately recommend this attration to others and will for sure be back for more visits myself in the future. The "host" while we were there also did an astounding job with the mic and really entertained and educated the audience. It was a really fun morning had by all.

This review is for Red Room DVD, Coffs Harbour NSW

This is such a great new idea for DVD rental. Not your traditional video store, Red Room DVD is all computerised. You swipe your membership card to browse movies by genre, title or actor. You can also read reviews and watch previews to help make a more informed decision. Membership is pre paid with cash or credit. Competitive hiring rates. You can even log on to their website from home, reserve your movie online and then pick it up later in-store. Totally great idea, I hope they pop up in more areas down the track. Also, being computerised with a 'vending machine' outside the store, this is a 24/7 experience!

I am changing my review for Red Room DVD in Coffs. This store has since closed down. I was sent an email informing me of this and the fact they are relocating but with no information as to when or where they might be relocating to (because I doubt that they are, not in Coffs anyway), the email simply read that they had closed. Of course the nature of this service is that DVD credit is pre-purchased and so currently outstanding on my account I am owed a $30 bond and $50 of rental credit. The small print terms and conditions it seems covers this company so that rental credit does not have to be refunded as alternative rental arrangements have been made. These arrangements involve me attending another video store to use my all credit left in a limited two month period. With this kind of customer service I will NOT be signing up to red room again in the future or recommending them to anyone. When will businesses learn the customer knows best? I feel like i've fed money into some scheme and now the people have vacated and left me with nothing. Not impressed.

This review is for Digitone Communications, Coffs Harbour NSW

verified email - 11 Feb 2008

Digitone is an independant mobile phone retailer. But my review is for their internet access in-store. $2 for 15 minutes, $4 for 30 or $6 per hour, great facilities with printer and fax available for use (at an additional cost). Comfy chairs and a casual environment. Staff are friendly. If you are visiting the area and want a decent place to check your email, this is it.

This review is for Sawtell Thai, Coffs Harbour NSW

verified email - 11 Feb 2008

What a find this place is. Tucked away next to the cinema, this funky little Thai shop has facility for eat in or take away. They have a simple, well-priced menu which allows you to choose your meat (or tofu) to combine with a selection of sauces. Great tasting, excellent friendly service, and lots of vegies in each dish. Huge fan!

Sadly Sawtell Thai shut down and is no more. But it was great when it existed!

This review is for Kent Removals & Storage, Clayton VIC

We recently moved state and were absolutely rapt with Kent's. The actual guys that packed us up and dropped us off at the other end were excellent. Really hard working nice blokes and they truely did a top notch job at both ends. Unfortunately we felt their operations people let them down on both occasions having set unrealistic time frames for them to get from job-to-job and so making our move later than anticipated. Again I would like to emphasise how great the actual guys were that moved us, they worked hard and were thorough and polite in spite of hard conditions and massive workloads. Cost was expensive, but we were relocated by my partners work so didn't have to foot the bill. If we could afford to use them going forward when we relocate back in the future I definately would.

This review is for H&R Block, Forest Hill VIC

I have been very impressed dealing with H&R Block for my 2007 tax return. I contacted the Vermont South office last year and found them to be extremely helpful organising for me to do my tax with them. I finally booked my appointment at Forest Hill and staff were pleasant and helpful and did a good job. As far as tax goes, I think the fee's are fairly standard and I was happy to pay to get good help.

This review is for The Ice-Cream Shoppe, Williamstown VIC

verified email - 19 Jan 2008

The ice cream/gelati here was AMAZING. Awesome flavours to choose from like cherry, bubblegum, mango, lemon and choc mint. It was seriously great tasting. If you're in Williamstown and feel like ice cream you have to try it. It's possibly the best eat out ice cream/gelati i've tasted.

This review is for Aix Cafe, Melbourne VIC

This cafe is an awesome find in the heart of the city. Excellent prices and delicious crepes with so many toppings to choose from in both sweet and savory! Particularly worth noting: banana and nutella filling and the traditional lemon and sugar - yum! Open for breakfast and lunch. The coffee was great. Though small inside, it adds to the experience. I also loved the novelty spoons served with your coffee - very cute. We also saw the baguettes being made and they too looked excellent with lots of fillings inside.
