This is the second time we've used Doug in the past 7 years. He provides practical and knowledgeable advice and options while quoting and was flexible about changes we requested to the work required. He and his apprentice arrived on time and finished a large-ish job on the same day, including going out during lunch to buy a replacement light fitting (as the original wasn't fit for purpose). The only drawback was being left with a sizable box of old fittings to dispose of, but then I guess he'd have to charge a lot more to cover said removal. I'll be asking him to quote on work at my Mum's place soon.

Order was delivered the next day - yay! I liked being able to add in my own extra choices - that's a really great feature. I went for a koala-themed pack as the work colleague who had the baby is from Europe - I can't comment on the quality of the goods because I haven't seen what was delivered but he was thrilled.

Doug obviously takes pride in offering a total quality service - technically competent and aesthetically pleasing installations backed by excellent customer service skills (he returned phone calls, turned up on time and listened carefully to our needs before making several suggestions for improvement). He recently installed 4 double sets of normal and waterproof outlets for us and replaced a fan switch. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others or to use him again.

Our hot water system died one Sat night and I called Rob the following day. He was able to ask a series of questions to determine what the scope of our job may be and then offer a few options and some rough price guides. He arrived when he said he would the following day to assess our job properly. We had to decide if the new system should be installed on the opposite side of the house to the broken one and what sub-floor pipework would be required to upgrade from a stand-alone unit to a continuous flow one. Rob gave us impartial advice and several options and then provided a written quote on the same day to help us decide. He then turned up and did the job when he said he would. His motto was to "do the job as well as he would in his own home" and my husband and I felt he lived up to this claim. Rob was easy to deal with, demonstrably reliable and a clear, relaxed communicator, thoroughly answering all of our questions and happily doing a few extra bits and pieces we needed at the same time (disconnect an old gas pipe etc). Rob demonstrated an 'old school' work ethic of punctuality and quality service and I would highly recommend him to others. We'll certainly use him again when needed.
