This café is my favourite local place for a coffee or quick refuel stop. Coffee is very moreish, smooth and sweet with a nice spicy aftertaste. Prices are great, not overpriced, and this café does not cater to the hipsters with fancy menus or things you would never eat in a million years like some others. Good location, ideal if you are going out and need a coffee stop before you get on the tram. Overall, good loyalty card programme, friendly and fast service and simple, good food and drinks. I even heard another customer ask for a second coffee on the same visit as she liked the first so much! Definitely one of my favourite local coffee stops in Brunswick West.

Experienced pleasant staff, great tasting drinks and good value. we didnt have to wait long to be served and they didnt look down on us like some places do when we only order one main to share. i suspect they gave us an extra oiece of toast with no charge - 1 piece each plate. The cafe looks inviting and comfortable and it really is. Great coffee too.

Great pizza, friendly service and great specials. try their monday night $6 pizza special for any thin pizza. fast and courteous service and i believe they do free delivery. They gave me a can of drink with my order for no extra charge qs well. Pizzas are good, especially if like me you don't like too much cheese! Not greasy and nice and tasty. I'd definitely order from them again.

Love this place. Firstly, read my other reviews on issues getting a new mirror for my Vespa. Not a difficult task as it turns out, as the guys at Vespa House fixed it in an hour. They were friendly, apologised about the other service centre I had been waiting a month for, and made my minor repair hassle free. The repair cost much less than I anticipated, labour included with the mirror, and they fit me in right away - call one day, in the next. I was so pleased I have now booked in a service with them. I'm not taking my Vespa anywhere else again. Family-run business and people who know what they are talking about! Fantastic..

This review is for Urban Moto Service Centre, Brunswick West VIC

I have had my Vespa serviced here a few times and I am quite tired of this service centre. They never seem to call me when my bike is ready to pick up, they either lose my number or forget to call. I always have to call them to see if it is ready. In addition, about a month ago I called them to see if they could help me fix the mirror on my Vespa as a pedestrian had bumped into me (by running on to the road) and it got loose and finally snapped off. It has been a month now, no calls, no information as to whether the order they put in for a mirror for me has arrived. They didn't believe me when I said I hit a pedestrian (he ran out from tram onto the road without looking onto a busy road whilst the lights were green) and they haven't bothered to get in contact about it. I need my bike so I've been riding with one mirror for a month now, waiting for contact. I finally called them last week and they said 'well, if we haven't called you, then it probably isn't in yet' and that I would get a call back from the guy at the front desk tomorrow. no call again so I called back, again, they said they would call and didn't. I am so disappointed. To add insult to injury, they never remember my name, even though I have a pink Vespa (distinctive) and have been to them about 4-5 times. I won't be returning.

This review is for Meltemi Greek Tavern, Moonee Ponds VIC

my partner and i were seeking a quick, tasty meal - it was Lent Friday and we were starving! Being Lent, despite neither of us being religious, we decided to go to a place that served seafood. Between a choice of Philhellenic tavern (which looked a bit too fancy and deterred us with a big sign stating 'BOOKINGS REQUIRED', and Meltemi Greek Tavern, we chose the latter. We weren't disappointed. My partner, who usually takes the deep fried option where available (gross i know), opted for the chargrilled calamari. He loved it. I ordered Dory, also chargrilled, which was slightly too oily but very tasty. Have to admit the sides were not up to the standard of the meat, which was disappointing. However, service was good and it was nice and quite inside. lovely decorations.

This review is for Absolute Thai, Carlton North VIC

verified email - 23 May 2012

Absolute Thai are great. We ordered online, which is easy and quick to do. The food took about an hour to arrive, partially expected as we live toward brunswick west, and they are in carlton. Some dishes are better than others, however. Love the thai fried rice and soups, spicy and tasty. Prices are average, what you would expect for good thai food. Food arrived warm and not piping hot, which I can only assume is due to the delivery distance. overall, good food and good prices. Have to give credit to the delivery boy who made me laugh: 'THAI FOOD!' he yells down the intercom. haha! Just what you want to hear when you're famished!

This review is for Ottoman Kebabs, Coburg VIC

verified email - 20 May 2012

my partner and I ordered in on a whim. We usually have a sit down dinner if we are getting Turkish as we feel the food is better coming direct from the kitchen and if it doesn't have to travel. We ordered Iskender and Adama. The food arrived at a good temperature and travelled well considering the make up of the food (Iskender is usually served on a sizzling hot plate). The food was good, not great but good, a good alternative if you don't want to venture out but want some variety from pizza and thai etc. the meals could be bigger, though, and the price was a little more expensive than i would have expected for the quality. the meat was great though, well-spiced and tender. i would order from here again, but only if i couldn't bear walking to a dine-in turkish restaurant.

This review is for Pamukkale Bakery, Brunswick VIC

this a great little bakery specialising in middle eastern, particularly turkish, breads and baked items. The store has a number of different types of breads but not as many options for snacks. With only a drinks fridge and no seating, this is more of a store for dropping in to grab a loaf of turkish bread or so as part of your regular shopping. the bread is fresh and soft, we picked up a loaf around 7pm and it was still very soft and pliable - obviously baked that morning. the prices are not too bad, a little more expensive than your average loaf of bread but you can expect that with speciality breads. their products taste great. my only issue is that the pastries were not that good. perhaps they might be tastier and fresher in the morning or during the day, rather than just before store closing time. overall though, this is where i will be buying my turkish bread from now. delicious!

Approximate cost: $8.50 loaf and pastry

This review is for Your Source, Chadstone VIC

verified email - 16 May 2012

I did a product test with Your Source this week and they were fantastic. The offices are not that hard to find and are conveniently located in the Chadstone shopping centre. The rewards you get vary according to the research you qualify for, but they are always generous. You receive either giftcards or cash for your time. Only downside is you can only do one research testing a month :( The staff are friendly and happy and you get to share your opinion to product testers, and get paid for it! what more could you ask for? I signed up via opinions paid online, did some qualifying surveys, and then a staff member may call you to book you in. an easy and hassle-free process.
