This cafe has good potential but often the service and food is inconsistent. It has a middle eastern flavour and offers some interesting choices. Good value for lunch meals.

This is a place to bring visitors from overseas. The view is wonderful and so is the ambience. The food is a little pricey but there are some more reasonable options available. I enjoy the salads.

Older style restaurant but excellent value. The roasts of the day are great and there is a 2 course lunch special that is fantastic. It's nice to look over the bowling green as well.

Quite a nice looking place with friendly staff. The lunch choices are good. I like the salads and foccacias but there is plenty of choice here for everyone. The main meals are little expensive for a lunch place but fine if you are there for dinner.

I hadn't eaten here since the change of ownership so i was unsure when I had lunch there this week. But the food was great and the lunch specials were terrific. Good value for good food.

We go here for breakfast. Most of the other Lentil as anything stores don't serve breakfast so we head here on special days for brekkie. They are open every day of the year which is also terrific. Their service is pretty poor as I don't think the staff are trained in any way. I generally like the eggs and they are innovative with what they serve with it. I love the setting and the coffee is good. A worthwhile visit if you can take the poor service and somewhat grungy surroundings.

This place was open on Good Friday so we thought we would give it a try for breakfast. Coffee was average. We had the porridge that came with caramelized bananas for $8. It was swimming in syrup which we drained off and then it was quite good. The rest of the menu looked quite interesting and affordable. It's a lovely spot right on the corner opposite the market.

I have been coming here for years. It's one of my parents favourite places. The san choi bao is great, so are the vegetarian dim sims. My son loves the Cantonese beef and the Mongolian Beef is the best I've experienced in a Chinese restaurant. The flavours are really exceptional. The fish is also great, both the whole steamed fish and the ginger and garlic stir fried fish. Scrumptious. Service is always courteous and attentive. Well worth while for a quick meal or a special occasion.

This a very busy trendy cafe.
I had a great plate of eggs and my partner had a nice omelette. The coffee was a little disappointing and although the staff were quite friendly when they finally got to us, the service was slow overall.

I used to go here as a child when it was a small restaurant in Acland Street. It was a place my parents loved but the food was always a little heavy and oily for me. Now that it has moved to larger premises in Hawthorn Rd my folks had to try it again and we have been a couple of times for lunch. I had the chicken salad so managed to steer clear of the heavy stuff but the old favourites of schnitzel, boiled beef and European fare are still on the menu. The worst thing is the service which is slow and unprofessional. They seem to find it difficult to work in the larger venue and things are poorly organised and coordinated.
