Yummy ice cream flavours, and you can have scoops or shakes with any flavour. It really brings out your inner kid when you can pick a 'mix-in' to go with your ice cream. Humans love choice. I love the Baileys ice cream with Ferrero 'mix-in'.

Look out for the bulk buys - bags of mushrooms, capsicums, tomatoes - there are bargains to be found! End of day specials can also be great for strawberries, bananas, etc. You can buy lovely bouquets of flowers from here 'ready-to-go', or even order your own 'special arrangement'. If you buy the strawberries, be sure to buy the dipping chocolate - drool-worthy.

The people who work in the Venuetix area are extremely helpful. They know all the best seats, no matter what entertainment venue. Every year the have the free Fringe guides - I would go to them to buy tickets to Fringe shows. Get your multitrips from here, but know that they can not be bought using credit. Good for cheap presents for that 'not so close' friend. And they'll still have diaries and calendars after everyone else had sold out.

The quiches are tasty, and on most days they offer quiche and salad, or quiche and coffee deals. The chicken salad is okay, but they shred the chicken - I prefer it in strips. (I have teeth; I can use them). They accept the Entertainment vouchers - 25% off total bill. Every now and then, I walk past and it smells like someone burnt something, but I've never received anything burnt when ordering, nor have I seen 'burnt' things on other peoples plates.

This review is for Adairs - House Of Linen, Oaklands Park SA

I would buy from this place when they have their big bi-annual sales, otherwise it's a bit expensive. Having said that, however, the quality is top notch. Egyptian cotton and crazy thread-counts, and I've had quilts and sheets from this place that have not faded after 5-6 years. You get what you pay for!! They have unique quilt designs - there's nothing worse that flicking through pages in junk-mail and seeing the 'same old stuff'. Adairs offers that little bit extra.

Everything I've ever ordered from this place has been top quality and delicious!! Cakes and pastries are the best in the state!! I recommend ordering birthday cakes from here - with black forest cakes, beestings and chocolate cakes, tried and tested, and loved!! AND they use Cadbury chocolate for the chocolate-donut icing (so I've heard). Best chocolate donuts in Adelaide!

This review is for Lim's Chinese Restaurant, Glenelg SA

Normally, we get take-away from Lim's and it's always delicious and generous portions. But it's also considered a 'treat', because it's a little pricey. But we love it. The other night, we got a group together and dined in for once. I must say, I was a bit disappointed. Firstly, the portions were smaller. And I'm not sure if they changed chefs, but the special fried rice was very buttery, and the honey chicken was 'ultra sweet' over-drizzled in honey, and the salad bed was drenched in honey Take-away honey chicken somehow is better. The soft drinks were served in small glasses, and they have spaced out the 'waiting time' for the mains perfectly, in the sense that, even if you had not intended to, you were on to your second drink before you got your main meal. What was particularly sweet (asides from the honey chicken) was that a woman was given a complimentary bottle of wine and dessert because it was her birthday, and they sang to her, and the whole restaurant got involved. All in all, I'll continue to use take-away with them, and stick to my favourite meals - beef black bean, honey chicken, lemon chicken, sweet and sour pork, and special fried rice.

This review is for The Strand Cafe Restaurant, Glenelg South SA

The Strand is great for a date. You can always find a table for two - group booking need notice, because it's so popular! My partner and I always order a wood-oven pizza to share. My mum and I always order pastas - she likes the seafood, i like the chicken. Sometimes it's hard to grab the attention of staff if you want something in addition to your initial order - like a drink half-way through eating your meal. There was a speaker in the front corner of the restaurant, that I ended up under once, which gave me a headache - but that has since been removed. So all in all - great location, great food, so I'll be back!! Maybe I'll have room for their mud cake next time...I have been eyeing it for a while.

There is a new woman working there called Becky, and she is fabulous!! She is natural, and loves life. She is not pushy; not trying to sell you everything. She suggests, she listens, and she makes perfume shopping a fun experience! There are so many perfumes on the market nowadays, and she lets you take your time. She also knows the stock. You can tell her a fragrance you like and she'll list off a few others, depending on what type of fragrance you are looking for (ie. floral, etc).

This review is for Gloria Jean's Coffee, Glenelg SA

verified email - 29 Nov 2009

Catching up with a few friends at this trendy little coffee place is always fabulous! Their coffee is great quality, with a strong fragrance, particularly useful late morning, or mid afternoon, for that quick 'pick me up'. I am chai latte fan for a warm drink, and a simple iced latte for something quick-to-drink and refreshing. Gloria Jeans have a great selection of scones, rasin bread, pastries for a small bite to have with your coffee - they are all yummy! Their cakes are also fabulous, but I have had on occassion, a slice of cheesecake which wasn't the freshest. It had that chewy jelly top that seperated from the rest of the cake. In the summer, it can be a little hard finding a table however - can too popular be a problem? Sitting outdoors is great when the weather is perfect, but you risk being pooped on by the sparrows.
