Food was fresh and delicious. Service was amazing. My favorite part was the desserts, amazing options, icecream, cakes, candy’s, everything was very tasty. I highly recommend.
Great buffet. The restaurant is beautiful, lovely aesthetics and the service is amazing! Such a lovely treat
An amazing place to go for a wide range of food. Had a great buffet here, they even had delicious cheese platters and oysters. I highly recommend this place.
I came here in April for a high tea with my parents to celebrate birthday. Service was excellent. It's $60 per head for a buffet high tea. The scones were fluffy and soft. It came with whipped cream, jams, lychees. There were many petite quiches, array of egg and salmon sandwiches, various types of ice creams, cake slices, chocolate fondue fountain- dark, milk and white choc. Plenty of fruits to choose and we chose Earl Grey Tea for our drinks. I must say the place is classy and service with food was excellent. If you have dietary problem, the waitress or chef will personally come to talk to you.

I booked dinner for 4 and requested a window table, advised we had one guest with coeliac disease and we were celebrating a birthday. We got our window table, and my friend was shown around the buffet with a chef advising her which dishes were GF. For once, she had a large selection of mains to eat, there was only about 4 dishes she couldn't have. The chef brought out a special GF dessert plate just for her. Another special birthday dessert platter was brought out for the birthday girl complete with lit candle. Our waitress was lovely, very attentive and friendly. We all loved the food and I even tried new things, such as the kingfish ceviche and sashimi. My friend loved the cheese platter station, complete with pastes, jams, lavosh, grissini etc. The dessert station was amazing, who doesn't love a chocolate fountain. Such a variety. The only downside is that drinks could be a bit cheaper, $6 for a glass bottle of soft drink is a bit steep. They made our special celebration a wonderful night out, impeccable service by all. Will definitely be back and recommended to friends.

If there were no guidelines for this review, I would write "sensational" and leave it at that but here goes.
This buffet is served in a beautiful room overlooking the Yarra and Melbourne Skyline. The tables are beautifully set and the buffet is packed with variety, quality, appetising food. Everything I tried, and I tried a lot, was superb. No dishes ever looks low or empty any time I went back, I had soup, sushi, salad, vegetables, meat, a little of anything I fancied. Then I got to the desserts, they were beautifully presented, some in small portions, some help yourself, and the icecream was really special. Each time I returned to our table, my serviette was re-folded and in place and our water glasses constantly refreshed. Conversing with other diners, it seems it is the choice for special occassions and patrons were friendly and upbeat, it was just a lovely place to dine. Treat yourself!

Went there for my 5year anniversary. Food and service was beautiful! The seafood was very tasty. The only critisism i can give is that their dumplings weren't that great
The Conservatory takes the cake for me for upscale buffets in Melbourne. They have recently redecorated the restaurant and it is so beautiful and classic now. I have eaten breakfast and dinner here numerous times and I have never been disappointed with a single item of food. They have a great selection of roasts, seafood, Asian dishes, curries, salads and the best dessert buffet including four chocolate fountains. It isn't the cheapest night out but you are definitely getting what you pay for. The view of the city is great and you get to experience the fire shows too. Fantastic location and excellent food and service.
Since their renovation to which was in need. The place looks fantastic, quality and variety of food is fantastic. Service is so much better and you walk out feeling pampered, content and extremely full... The only thing I can critersize on is the price, if it was a touch cheaper like $75 per head it would definitely be a lot better, I feel the price per head is a little high.

Great buffet service here and one of the classiest in Melbourne. Came here for a birthday dinner with friends and we booked ahead so no issue with seating. Service was fine and friendly and the food delicious and plentiful. Have roast, chinese stir-frys and dessert as it's a buffet you can really mix and match.
Wow. Immaculate decor. We were promptly seated, poured some water and asked if we'd like any drinks. The buffet was full of seafood, Indian & Asian cuisine and the best ravioli I've ever had in my entire life.
Naan bread cooked right before your eyes in seconds, everything I put on to my plate was perfect, it was cleared, and we'd grab another plate to search for more.
Dessert table was filled with everything you could imagine, ice cream table with toppings, or fillings to crush into it like at cold rock. Cakes, macaroons, pastries and fruit for the fondue set up.
Wait staff were amazing, kept folding our napkins whilst we were gone from our table.
Chefs preparing food right in front of your eyes asking you what you'd like, explaining the dishes.
A grade, second to none dining experience

Thanks for your detailed review. These really do assist decisions. Cheers ðŸ‘
I went to the Conservatory for breakfast recently and had a mixed experienced. I loved the setup and enjoyed the sense of elegance that was presented however I found my meal disappointing and over priced for what was included. Service was good and staff were helpful which was pleasing
Most impressive from the moment you walk in, spendid choice of buffet with beautiful layout looking out onto the river and city. Tables were nicely positioned allowing you to talk and move around without tripping on chairs. All the seafood was mouthwatering along with all the other soups, curry's, salads. stirfries, roasts, and vegies. You could not complain about the sweets station there was something for everyone, in nice small serves, enableing you to taste many. staff were friendly and prompt with service. Fairly expensive but well worth it. Advisable to make a booking.

We visited Conservatory for the High Tea Buffet. It was delicious! We all enjoyed everything we tried. And there was so much variety and so much to choose from, we couldn't even try everything! Which was impressive, as sometimes at these types of things, you find the opposite. I must admit we ate too much, but it was well worth it!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful, we walked out discussing how good the staff has been.
As you walk in you are immediately impressed by your surroundings, the view and of course the set up of the buffet and the presentation of the food. Savoury, sweets, a chocolate fountain!
For $40 ($65 if you get a class of f Moët & Chandon Rosé Champagne), it is very well priced for what you get. We absolutely got our monies worth.
Approximate cost: $40-$65
This buffet venue is pretty impressive. It is expensive per head but for the quality and value in the amount of food you get it is reasonable. Try getting the entertainment book, you get back the value of the bill after the bill! I liked the huge variety and couldn't fault anything but the seafood options at the Melba are better.
seafood delight!! thats what sums it up for me, the buffett is filled with so many seafood options, fresh oysters, prawns and more!
we went there a couple of times for Saturday lunch - be sure to book ahead as it gets quite busy
the dessert station is impressive with the chocolate founntain.
be sure to ask for a table by the window so you can enojoy the city views and the yarra river
its not cheap i admit, but worth the experience, very handy if you have entertainment card voucher to receive a discount
staff are very attentive and courteous
We had the weekday buffet lunch. A great range ofquality food to choose from and excellent service! The drinks are expensive and the buffet is not cheap but I do feel you get your money's worth. The highlight is definately the dessert buffet, complete with chocolate fountain, icecream station and beautiful petite delights!

I was expecting a lot from this place, and was sadly a little disappointed. There is not a big choice when it comes to main meals. They had a fair choice for seafood lovers including prawns, oysters and lobster/crab. There were some dim sims, springrolls and a dish of Indian stew on one side. The other side had pork and beef roast, chicken and beef stirfries, noodles, fish stew dish, duck which was very dry and potoatoes. There is not a great choice of salads at all. This is quite an ordinary list of food, nothing special at all, and not a great choice for such an expensive and thought to be upmarket buffet. The Kitchen Workshop at Crown has a wider choice of food with the quarter of the price. Despite the good attentive service from the staff and a quieter atmosphere, there was not much left to be desired when it came to the food. I was expecting a lot more variety and not the cheap dim sims, springrolls to even be seen in a place like this. Disappointing overall.

For the quality of the foods given, i think that the price is actually not too bad. This place is affordable and in a wonderful location. The best time to eat is for dinner, making sure you have a seat close to one of the windows because the view you get is wonderful and you get to experience the fire show up close every hour that passes. Meals are delicious and there is a wide selection.

Really enjoyed dinner at the Conservatory, very expensive buffet but with great variety of quality foods. Reservations needed as it can get very busy, especially weekends.
Approximate cost: $80
Had a really enjoyable dinner here. The wines were very expensive. The cheapest would set you back $40-50. I said it was my partners birthday and they had a cake with a note in chocolate prepared and brought it out with candles at no extra cost. Was a nice, appreciated touch!
Approximate cost: $70
Decent price for an above average buffet, especially when going for lunch. Make a reservation and don't expect the highest levels of service (considering it's self-service that shouldn't play a huge factor in the ratings), good times will no doubt be had.
Approximate cost: $60
Went to Conservatory with great expectation, the food are not as much as anticipated, quite crowded, good service, but overall it's not that great as the reviews I read. And quite expensive.
Approximate cost: $80
Went there on many occasions as birthdays were always held there. Price isn't too bad as you get unlimited seafood buffet as well as hot and cold foods. Place is a bit small so It's best to book for not a busy period. Very convenient location if you live in the inner suburbs.
Approximate cost: $73
Went for the lunch buffet.
A very good quality spread. Pleasant surrounds with the Mahogany Room around the corner, and views out above Southbank promenade and the Yarra.
The service is alright, nothing particularly special.
To make it a good value dining experience, one must eat the seafood.
Approximate cost: $40
Great Buffet for meat and seafood eaters but not so good for vegetarian's. We love going there as it has the elegance of a five star restaurant. The desserts are beautiful not only in presentation but in taste as well. Only bad point would be more main selection for vegetarians. Service is great when the place is quiet but no so good when busy as had to wait for a while to top up my glass of water.
Enjoyed the buffet at Conservatory. Variety of hot and cold dishes, desserts and snacks.. I preferred their Asian section which taste absolutely fantastic!! Would recommend this for sure..
Approximate cost: $50
Great Buffet in a chic place. Good atmosphere, nice dining experience. Will go again for sure when around there.
The first round of the seafood was pretty fresh, however when they refilled the seafood, it was very salty. I was quite disappointed with the seafood. The positive side is that the waiters were very attentive and polite. Also, the desserts were very appealing. That was my partner's birthday that day and they gave her a birthday cake that was of a very high standard. Overall, this was a satisfactory experience but not good enough for me to visit next time as it is too pricey compared to the quality of food we had.
Approximate cost: $61
The Conservatory at Crown is definitely my favorite buffet place. Their seafood is pretty fresh and tasty. I really enjoyed the prawns and oysters – as you can tell I have an appetite for seafood. I think it's a nice place to go with a group of friends who don't mind a pricey buffet.
