Received much cheaper quotes on my all insurances am in the process of changing from my current insurer to GIO. Saving me nearly $1000.00. Friendly service. Lets hope it continues next year

Just checked for a greenslip and the GIO was the cheapest on the greenslip calculater website under NRMA by about 15 bucks this year so looks like they get the gig!
I Decided to go with Gio for my car insurance. Because over the phone the woman said i will get a 5% discount if i get the greenslip and car insurance together. I went to pay in person. They didnt give me the discount cause they said my car is on "Finance" Which we already cleared everything over the phone. So now i am stuck with this insurer till June next year. I was fuming. Not happy. Obviously i will go to another. Thought i would save money with Gio I was wrong in a big way. Very disappointed.I explained everything to the person face to face. And nothing was done about it.

Allow me to give you a little advice. By the sounds of it you've clearly explained over the phone, that your car is on finance, yet the operator or the telemarketer said 'it was all clear'.
I suggest you follow it up, if you don't like what you hear from them, go a level up, and so on. You're bound to have someone hear you, who actually cares about how the business operates.
If that doesn't satisfy you, call up the fair trade, they'll listen to your account and give you an idea on what options you can take.
I transferred over from another company this year and although the call centre staff are very polite and friendly I had to get my home insurance policy revised and mailed to me twice after I discovered errors in it. The first time I was told the error wouldn't matter but as I didn't want to take the chance on them not wanting to pay a claim I phoned back a few days later and was told it should be corrected. Not a great start!
We have moved some of our motor vehicle policies over to GIO as they are much cheaper than their competitors.
I have found them very good to deal with, claims are quick and easy.
I also have houe and contents insurance with them, and have for many years.
Yes I did the same. I concurr that they have treated me well in two forms of insurance and are much cheaper
We have our CTP taken up with them as they offer good value although we prefer AAMI as our car insurer.

Extremely poor and unknowledgeable service. Rude, arrogant, etc. There are plenty of other better companies that deserve your money more.
They pulled every trick in the book to try and not pay, which is almost accepted when it comes to insurance. However, the level of 'service' that I received is unforgivable.
They will disregard your excellent history, police papers, etc and just assume you're a fraudster, etc. It is shameful behaviour from them. My advice is: find someone else to insure you. I've been with other comps for years (never a problem making a claim) but ended up with GIO via a cruel twist of fate. The staff are aggressive and stubborn. Of course I got paid in the end, but only after months of not being able to drive my car.... still waiting for an apology from somebody!

That's quite a bit. unfortunate to hear that they're using all the tricks in the book rather than playing by the books.
Worst ever insurance experience. Staff completely made up reasons why not to pay, even though they were found in the wrong 12 MONTHS LATER! What a waste of my time, I would advice everyone to not deal with GIO.

My daughter party in an accident, in my car, interstate.The driver at fault had GIO as insurers - they wee so efficient, and compassionate each time I called with so many questions. I was si impressed, that I have considered changing my car insurer to go to GIO.
After being burgled we found GIO to be fantastic and we had our items replaced very quickly. They are also one of the cheaper insurers around.
