Japanache were the ONLY company I could find that sold authentic, traditional Japanese futons made by an actual Japanese family in Japan. They were pleasant to deal with, were extremely helpful and polite on the phone and sent me my order as fast as possible. They even stayed in touch when there were delays out of their hands. I would recommend them to anyone looking for futons and I will 100% return and get a new one from them when mine needs replacing.

Genuine quality genuine material genuine business.
I was already a futon convert although I hadn’t slept on the traditional Japanese futon. Richard warned me that it is alot thinner so I can’t say I haven’t been warned but it is very thin and am considering buying a second one to layer up. That a bit frustrating because I thought I already made my investment.
Other than that it’s a nice mattress; fresh and high quality. And on the plus side so easy to move around to hang in the sun or even I can chuck in the car for an outing.

The pillow filled with buckwheat husks was a new experience. Strong aromatic smell. Not unpleasant but strong in the first week. I didn’t realise the filling are hard particles. Its just that it has a noisy tactile. I’ll switch back to my softer pillow for now but we’ll see.

I also got the duna and matching covers. All nice and warm

I have had a really bad back for most of my life. I have had the tatami floor Matt for 3 weeks and I am a changed person. Fantastic! My sleep is now so uninterrupted.
