I love this airline and the qantas Sydney crew were very nice and were a good air line crew. My experience with them was good and I was pleased. I highly recommend them
The icon! Qantas offers the best service in Australia. Best airline food, and best staff. Unfortunately they are pricing themselves out of the game. A lot of their airfares are three times that of competitor's, which makes me go with the opposition as I can't see why I should pay three times what others are asking. It's a shame.
I definitely agree with your review! I love QANTAS, however their prices are way too expensive, and for this reason, I usually fly with competitors
Might be a little biased as my father worked here but i have never used any other airline company.
One of the biggest, longest running companies, that do charge a little more but are certainly worth it for their standard of service.
Reasonable seating in economy class, much better in business class and of course first class is exceptional. Good food and drinks with the staff always happy to meet your needs, and calm your fears if you have any.
Entertainment for the kids with movies, colouring in books and pencils and if your really lucky they might take you to the cockpit and the pilots are lovely.
Will always continue to fly with this airline
Love them too!
Qantas great airline love flying with these guys abit more than other carrier but worth it great when travelling with kids give kids kids pack to occupy them very friendly n helpful
It's worth it for that little bit more that you pay
Used to love flying with this airline, but there service and prices seem to be getting worse,so now I fly jetstar or even virgin..it seems like you pay for that free meal in the long run!hope they lift their game as I would go back to flying with them
This is regarding Qantas flights transitting in UAE airports. After reading smart traveller I was concerned about medication in transit areas. Asked question via email and have not received an answer. Have explained more on my smart traveller review.
Long haul flight via Qantas for the first time. Cabin crew were helpful and service was good. Food was ok but they kept running out of menu options. Disappointed with how cramped the seating was on the A380 economy. There shouldn't be a fee for choosing your seat in advance. Budget airline feel, so don't pay premium fares to fly with them.
Service is great indeed
I've flown Qantas domestically for business for a few years and have racked up a significant amount of Frequent Flyer Points. But try as I might I cannot seem to use them for flying with my family. We fly internationally to visit relatives in the US and Singapore at least twice a year.
In my extensive research, Qantas has the highest priced infant and toddler fares around and so even if I was to cash in points for myself for a round trip flight to Singapore I still end up paying about the same price for the whole family to travel as I would on another airline. However, if I was travelling with another airline I'd still have all my Qantas frequent flyer points (not that I can use them anyway).
I only fly Qantas because it is Company Policy to do so and they pay for it. But I really don't think there is value in the premium fares they charge for domestic flights when the only difference I see between Qantas and a budget airline is that the food cart that comes around with a drink (approx $3) and a scone (approx $4) or a bag of veggie chips (approx $2.50)
Qantas could have a lot of business from me (especially on their Sydney->Dallas route which I would fly at least once a year) if their fares and policies were more in line with the market. They don't even have to be cheaper, just comparable, rather than way outside of reasonable.
On the plus side, I have never had any reason to fault their ground staff, Qantas lounge staff or cabin crew which are very helpful and kind especially when I was doing weekly flights from Syd-Mel return all through my pregnancy. There was always someone to help me with my bags and make sure I had an easily accessible seat.
thank you for mentioning about the infant and toddler fare being high priced as its something I did not know! I will keep this in mind for our future family trips, thanks for sharing :)
Interesting points that I sure not everyone is aware of regarding Qantas, thanks for sharing.
Very good review, thanks for the warning.
I used to fly with Qantas, but now i fly with jetstar. The service with qantas used to be somehting you'd pass onto others but i hadn't seen it for years. The prices soar expenentially and I don't find any different between jetstar, except i dont pay as much!
This "service" has deteriorated from the fantastic business it was two decades ago. The "rewards" have lost value dramatically long before the GFC. They have time limits and restrictions everywhere, so if you don't use them or claim you lose the points. Yet, we can never get the flight itineraries or dates we want when we try to claim. We cannot get seats together on the same flight! My daughter wanted all her points redeemed into gift cards and could only do $30 worth of gift voucher every quarter! My sister wanted to give me all her points but was not allowed to do so as points have to be transferred in multiples of 5,000. So she lost her points for not travelling with them again. What a scam the Qantas frequent flyer Program is. We now avoid Qantas when we can.
