I really not a fan of telstra at all about their service for the customer. we always need to wait so long for just an operator on the phone to talk to you. The operator isn't that great for your service anyway and at time I got into most frustration and decided to hang up the phone.

I have my phone, internet and pay tv with them - I have had my telephone be out of order at leat 12 times in the last year - and they still cannot fix for a decent amount of time- once they promised and said they had to get access to my house and said would show up - i phoned a couple of times to confirm - yes they were still coming - then at 6.00 pm they said they had fixed the phone - NOT !!!! SAME RIGMAROLE THE NEXT DAY - JUST LIES, and then try and phone to get a rebate cos you haven't had a service and waited around a missed work for 2 days unnecessarily, and you get transferred and transferred, and finally someone offers something like $5.00 - what a joke - as soon as i get round to it i am changing provider

Approximate cost: $300

I have my internet, my home phone, and my pre-paid mobile service all with Telstra. I admit, I've never had any issues with my mobile phone service (probably because it is pre-paid and therefore don't get a monthly bill)... but the issues with my internet and phone seem never ending. Starting up a new connection or service with them is an absolute nightmare. Your first bill NEVER says what you expect it to, and the service takes much longer to set up than they say. We recently moved houses and transferred our service to our new address and it was the most frustrating endeavour I have ever had to do. I dread the day our 24 month contract runs out because I bet they will start charging me 3 times what I pay now. Once you're able to finally get your bills to say the correct packages and reflect the correct pricing... and you are able to get your service established (and established properly) THEN you have less problems and the quality of the services seem to run ok.

As well as the above, of course I cannot write a posting about Telstra without complaining about their customer service (or lack thereof) over the phone. Is it ever possible to speak to the correct person the first time you call? I have never had the first person I speak to be able to solve my problem. You always have to be transferred elsewhere and its usually to the wrong person anyways. You spend more time on hold than you do actually talking to a representative, and when they say they've fixed the problem, they never have. I just can't believe what they tell me anymore.

How the heck is Telstra still in business?

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Had been with them for many years. Tried to get broadband connected but they had to dig a trench for the cable so required a special truck and crew - after 4 different goes and 4 different service technicians coming without the right truck, over a period of 3 - 4 weeks, we gave up and are now with a different telecommunication company. Telstra service non existent.

seriously. they offer great quality in their products but their service is the absolute worst. i can never get through to a customer service consultant. you constantly get hung up on. value for money is definetely very low compared to other companies such as vodafone who offer better deals and prices. overall would never ever deal with them again, their terrible service is enough to put me off from dealing with them.

Extremely bad service.. My deal was 12 months at half price. They charged full price. When I paid half the other half went into arrears and attracted a late fee, every month. Every month back to the store, sit on their phone for 45 mins and they say its all fixed. Next month, same problem. I had enough, cancelled my contract and they wanted $299 for doing that, when they were the ones making the mistakes. How much does one have to endure. I said 'enough'. Went to Telecommunication Industry Ombudsman, they had it sorted almost immediately, waived the cancellation fee. I was relieved, it was finally over. Not so, I then received another bill a month after for $329, which included the cancellation fee. Arrrggghhh!!! Go away Telstra.
