Don't trust Tiger Airways when they say they will process your refund within 6 weeks. When I turned up to Sydney Airport once for my domestic flight home to Melbourne, I was told my flight had been cancelled - without any warning by email or SMS whatsoever! After 6 long weeks of waiting I tried to find a customer service number to call, which always came with a busy tone except the one time I got through to an operator which took a 40 minute wait.

I finally received my refund after 3 months. Not good enough and after the recent safety issues, I will definitely never fly with them again, no matter how cheap their prices are!

Great Budget Flight,Staff is satisfactory.Freedom to buy your luggage weight.some times you can grab cheaper ticket than jet-star for the same route.I paid Perth to Singapore 420 AUD with 25kg Baggage ,same time Jet star were charging 567AUD with 20kg Baggage allowance.

Approximate cost: $420.00

Cheap as chips, occasional delays, but that's what you get when you fly budget! Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. Staff are great.

I find it amazing hearing all the bad things people have to say about Tiger.
I have flown with them on almost 10 occasions and have never had any problems.
In fact, I'd almost never fly with another airline.
As a slightly nervous flyer, the flights have been extremely smooth and the landings excellent.
The price is the best feature of course, and really, who expects heaps of extras for the price. You'd pay double to fly with any other airline and still not get food or check in luggage.
I highly recommend you fly with Tiger, but check the rules when booking, and turn up on time.
I have to admit, the only problem is getting in contact with them to make changes. The definitely need an email or 1800 service.
But overall, I've been totally happy every time I've travelled with them and doubt I'd be forced into flying with one of the other 2 cheaper options.

We flew to Melbourne for a weekend but the day we were due to fly back, they canceled the flight and we had to rebook. They gave us a form to submit for the refund but it took them 6 months and the start of legal action before we saw our money back.

Approximate cost: $241

My sister and I flew to the gold coast to visit my Mum, from tullamarine airport.
First they said we did not go on line to confirm our bookings so they charged us another $25 each as the deadline was 4 hours prior to departure, But the plane was three and a half hours delayed, plus the 2 hours they like you to be there which would have given us plenty of time to confirm booking on line.
Second 3.5 hours late with no compensation, no food or drink vouchers...only we hope you enjoyed the experience.....Not!

Approximate cost: $200.00

I purchased my tickets online with travel insurance and had an issue with the date I booked. So I needed to change my tickets and this was not even 15 minutes after the online booking. I rang the customer service line and spoke to an Indian female that lacked in English speaking skills. Anyway, after discussing my issue and noting that the next flight was the same price and I had purchased insurance from there site... she wanted to charge me more than a new ticket to change my flight time by 3 hours. Never ended up changing my flight and had to reschedule a few legal appointments - luckily the courts were more happy to do so. Checked in 24 hours prior to departure as check in closes 4 hours prior to departure. On the flight to Melbourne from Adelaide there was a group of 6 males that was not able to check-in online and went to the gate. Rather than staff talking to the group they just called the Federal Police. A big scene the staff made from nothing. The flight was smooth there and back. No other issues. Oh Yeah! The staff arrived 15 minutes after boarding time on the way there... is 5:35 am to early for them and not for those flying?

Approximate cost: $62 return

I arrived at the airport checkin area 43.5 minutes before the close of flight to be told my a rude and unpolite staff member that they had already closed the flight and that we couldn't board the plane. We had to rebook onto another flight 6 hours later and pay more money to fly. What to say, well you get what you pay for. Tickets are cheap so the service is cheap. Cheap, no-frills flights is what they promise and it's what they deliver. Because of this treatment I will never choose to book with them again.
